so i got the old 24-7 footwells in my sj...i really like them cause i can lock my whole foot in and they have great ankle support....but i have to wear skate shoes because they kill the tops of my feet...even with booties or jet ski shoes they kill my feet...they only have one layer of ht in them so i will be definintly padding them out a bit more...my question is..what kind of footwells are you guys that ride barefoot useing??..i know most guys that ride barefoot use straps but i cant ride surfstance and i like the extra room in the tray my footwells give me...i come from a surfing background so i hate having anything on my feet...i actually hate ever wearing shoes and i pretty much only do at work....anyways if i end up padding out my existing footwells can i use mulitple layers of diamond bstock on top of eachother or should i use somesort of underpadding or just get a sheet of the smooth stuff??

Have you ever tried wrestling shoes?

i need a heavily padded tounge to protect my feet (skateshoes) or footwells that dont hurt my feet...im not worried about grip..i just need a footwell that dosnt leave huge bruises on the tops of my feet when i ride barefoot...i currently ride in the skateshoes but id rather ride barefoot...if im gonna ride shoes i might as well ride skate shoes...i dont do any hood tricks or anything so i dont really think wrestling shoes would ad any grip

When we rebuilt my ski, we used kitchen mat from Wal Mart. It sounds funny, but it is so soft. We just put it under the turf on the tray, but if you have enough room to consider layering turf, you should have plenty of room to put the pad (it is a WHOLE lot softer than turf).
If you really want to do something to help, you could make a mold of your holds and grind out where you're getting your bruise. Just custom tailor them to fit your needs (I would just start with the pad and see if that works though).

real riders ride barefoot.

that being said I must not be a real rider cuz I ride with shoes.
