Bargain Basement Throttle Levers... ?

Dudes , i am getting fed up of forking out my hard earned cash on throttle and trim levers. They are expensive and seem to be a bit on the delicate side. Have any of you ever tried using the brake levers of old pedal bikes , they come in all shapes and sizes and are made from all kinds of metals. Thinking of giving them a go myself.....

are you buying the cheap aluminum ones? Get a billet lever for like $70 and they shouldnt break unless your ski falls on to concrete.

I have had issues with my Rickter trim lever, I lost the cable adapter twice. The 1st time a buddy had one that fit but know I can't find the right size adapter does anyone know what size and threads fit the Rickter lever?

I was thinking of using a Works MX clutch lever.

So far I have broken 2 throttle levers and a trim lever , and i always make sure to keep my cables well oiled etc. I must be a bit heavy handed... !

SmittySX , i think you have nailed it. If i stop chucking it over "The Cliffs Of Moher" and diving in after it to ride the surf , then maybe they will last longer.... Thanks , dude.

I've worn out a couple Billet levers, but never have broke one. I've seen ppl rig oddesey levers for throttle levers, probably be your cheapest route.
