Other Barrel pump/ fuel transfer

Im looking for some sort of pump to transfer fuel from a 55 gallon drum into my VP jugs. Every rotary style pump i find have terrible reviews and most say they arent strong enough to transfer fuel. Im not looking to spend a fortune. An electric pump would be nice also. What do you guys use?

I have always used GPI fuel transfer pumps with zero complaints. I had an electric one in a slip tank on the truck for 10+ years.
Today's comparable model is the EZ-8;

I had a manual style in the shop I used on my drums of AV gas. The lever style is worlds better than the rotary.

I had the HP-100 but I am sure the HP-90 would suffice.

Northen tool has the HP-100 for $135.00

and the HP-90 for $125.

I totally agree with Harbor. They are nice, cheap and easy. I got one from the Klotz guy in MN when I picked up my 55gallon barrel of Sunoco. I think I paid $25.00 for mine, set up for a 55.

Tom is a busy guy, but is a good guy to deal with. I'm sure he deals with so many craigslist people that it hardens his enthusiasm a bit.

I got to use one of those a a few years ago here on the ship. I remember it being alot of work for very little volume.. Id prefer the rotary style like Jordan posted, although thats definitely cheap!

Ya there may have been a problem/leak with one you used, or the elevations were not correct to start a siphon. Using it as a hand pump would take awhile like you've mentioned...

Normally the pump at the top is to start the siphon then atmosphere would do the rest, when done loosen the red knob at the top to break the siphon.

That makes more sense!
