Custom/Hybrid Batteries!

Trying to decide which battery to go with. I'm going to be using a lightened flywheel and EPIC, so no need to worry about total loss. I would like to find something lightweight. Any opinions? I'm thinking either Jetworks or Deka. Already searched and pretty much just found info on Ballistics.

If you want to stay with a traditional battery go with the Jet Works. If a light weight batter is what you want go with the Antigravity. The Antigravity is put together better and its a LiFe battery. You won't believe how well it works. Phil Clemmons runs the crap out of his TL 1100 and his Antigravity never has let him down. BTW I've run a Jetworks and have never had an issue.

I have run everything except the Jetworks and Ballistics at this point I have been happiest with the Deka ETX9's but will be committing to a Jetworks for my next purchase just because of all the positive feedback I've heard over the years.

I'm not really concerned about weight savings though. I'd much rather my ski crank and run than be a couple pounds lighter. As much as I like the ETX9's, they have left me dead a couple times now. Not their fault, just not as forgiving as a full size battery.

I run both a Jetworks and a deka. Both are reliable. The Jetworks is 6 years old now too. Keep it fresh with a battery tender in off season and have run it with oem cdi, epic and analog TL. Works well, but it's a heavy mutha. The deka is fine too. Ext9 on its 4th season this spring. No issues. It does wear down faster than the big Jetworks, but it's a smaller battery. I get atleast a full day and usually a half day extra with my digital TL now. U won't go wrong with either of those batts.

As a side note, I keep a Frontier Power battery (Deka knockoff) as a back up. It's a sealed gel battery too. The post terminals are old school but its been equal to the Deka from day one and its 3 years old now. Paid $20 for it new.

I can't speak for the other batteries, but I can tell you from personal experience DO NOT buy a Ballistic. I got 15 minutes on mine before it completely failed and their customer service is a complete joke.

I had a 12 cell that went bad in very little time. I had to personally e-fight it out with the company president who only gave up when I pointed out that they had two different, conflicting warranties (one on the web and one that ships printed with the battery). They sent me two brand-new 16 cells as replacement.
One of them quit after a few months because a couple of the balancing port pins broke off.
The second still worked when I stopped riding last September, but I do not expect it to be good anymore.
The construction quality of those Ballistics is horrible. I would stay far away from them because of that and because of their :):):):)ty attitude.
I'll probably give Antigravity a try.

Pretty much my exact experience with them. I had to email the CEO to get any help. Whats even crazier is I'm a dealer and they were still slow to do anything. When working with other vendors its never an issue. Just a bad company all around. I'm with you on the antigravity.

Really depends on your application. If you're running a Powerfactor exhaust, you most likely need a pretty small battery. But if you're also running total loss and perhaps high compression in a big motor, you need a battery with lots of capacity.
For me, that pretty much means LiFePO technology, which is small, light, has high energy density, and as an added bonus takes very little time to charge.
It's unfortunate that there are companies like Ballistic. I hope Antigravity works better for me this season.

The Yuasa batter for a yami jetski is YTX20HL-BS-PW, it has 310 CCA. The Antigravity's are 360 CCA 12 cell, 480 CCA 16 cell, 600 CCA 20 cell. If you get them from Phil Clemmons you will also get your questions answered as to how to take care of them and how they work. He is very knowledgable in this field. Once you try it out you won't go back.
