You will want something lithium. Measure your battery box and find the largest one that will fit. You can also get a portable charger to bring with you and keep it charged. Most importantly make sure your carbs are tuned so it only takes a second to start. And keep it running the whole time you are on it, dont kill/start it everything you fall off.
 
As said above it depends on how much you ride it and how often you are starting it. With a total loss system you are running on battery only so there is really no way for us to tell you how long "your battery" will last.
The best advise is the largest battery you can fit and charge it between rides if you can, even solar would help.

Without recharging, was told my ski didnt have charging electronics

Not sure if this is any help, but, I recharge on trips by plugging my charger into a 750 watt inverter hooked to my truck battery...

Inverter is from Walmart and inexpensive...

I use lithium batteries like mentioned already, the anti gravity brand works for me... but other brands are out there.. theirs various threads on it...
