Battery dies fast

I was riding yesterday and the ski was running decent. But out of no where one of my batteries died. I threw in another one fully charged and got 3 starts on it before the other one died (both brand new batteries) what could my issue be?

It sounds like you're either constantly drawing a lot of current, and/or you're not charging when running. Take a freshly charged battery and hook it up to an otherwise sitting-there-doing-nothing-ski and measure the current draw. If it's not zero, something somewhere is passing current that shouldn't be. It's a problem, too, not an issue. Just a pet peeve.

When I first bought my fx1 it would kill batteries. I swapped out the stator plate and never had another problem. My theory was someone jump started it with a car and damaged the charging coils.

How does jump starting (hooking a battery up in parallel with another battery) damage the stator coils? I mean, if it does, I want to know, but I don't get how it can. Thanks in advance.

Are they dead or is your ski having problems starting? I had a similar issue where i thought I had a junk battery and ended up being my ground cable was mostly rotted and corrected.
