Mcmaster has quick disconnects you can use for this.

I just used a rotary tool to make the ring terminal on my negative battery cable into a spade terminal. Quarter turn of the bolt and you can slide it right off/on. I do this after each ride and I do believe I was the only one in my riding group that didn't get stung at least once by a dead battery this past season.

Did you screw your Tubbies in? If so check your harness, Scott ran a screw into his stator wiring. His wiring didn't go bad right away but a few rides in salt water ate it up pretty bad and he had to splice in a new section of wire along side the motor. The screw wasn't still embedded in the harness but once the insulation is damaged and salt gets in the corrosion starts. You will want to visually inspect the entire harness very thoroughly.

My seadoo gets disconnected after every ride cause the MPEM and Advent Ign. draw a little current but I never disconnect any of my other skis except my 92 SN and I only disconnect it now because it just started doing what yours is doing last season. It was fine for over 6 yrs but has just now started to drain the battery. I disconnected my bilge and it still drains the battery. I haven't looked deeper yet.

I havent put the tubbies on yet. They still need to be painted.

I was talking with John at Jet Ski Solutions about a month ago and he said he was working on some quick disconnects. John always does top notch stuff. I would try JSS first, I'm sure they're ready by now.

Yeah me 2. I saw some on a ski once and even a catalogue that www.ThreeDayParts.com had online. When I caleld them the guy said if you can find them, let me know I want some too.

All I can find are those flip up types from Hot Products.

Only other scenario I came up with was the MSD connectors liek McMaster Carr sells. I bought three of them so I can just unhook the battery and plug the battery into my battery charged with the third hooked to some short leads. I haven't made it yet but it is really simple.

I use a battery tender jr. The ring terminals are permanently attached to the battery & the tender plugs into that. I'll keep it in top shape at all times

This is what I use. I think Hot Products carry them.

That is what I have as well. I bought s third piece so I can make some shorty leads. Just unplug the connector, plug in the shorty leads that I hook the battery charger up to.

McMaster Carr sells these same ones much cheaper than the MSD or Hot Product ones. They are all the same anyways.

That is what I use as well. I have never disconnected my batteries. When I get some, just connect it up. Never an issue.

So tell me this. Does anyone charge their batteries with the cables still connected?

I always disconnect the battery if I am charging it because I am worried the charger might fry my electrics.

It only takes a few seconds to disconnect them so why not.

But when I jump skis... they are still connected so that is kind of the opposite...

i finally bought a new jetworks battery last week... ive been using half ass batteries for years in all my skiis...

for some reason when it comes to a battery ive always been a cheapass.

after sinking my ski in the surf once this year and the battery almost dying i figured it was time to man up and buy a good battery.

ive always charged batteries while connected to the (ski)cables... never had a problem with a 2 amp trickle charge overnight.
