Battery tray

Looking for suggestions..
My ski has a molded in battery tray with sides only 1/2inch tall. It's strapped with a single strap going lengthwise and on heavy landings a heavy battery like an etx12 likes to flex the strap too much and pop out the side of the battery tray. So far I've thought of:
Gluing inserts to side of ski and strapping battery against the hull lengthwise
Glassing the battery tray so it's higher than 1/2 inch
Using two m6 studs and girdling the battery lengthwise
Anyone had similar experience? Looking to stick with my current battery if possible.

I currently have a foam block to tension the strap more.

I mean the thought of a lithium battery might be tempting but I run a charging system. But with a 2.5lb battery vs 10 I probably wouldn't have this issue...

Don't all lithium batteries for motorsports work with charging systems? E.g., NOCO.
Early on there where concerns that the charging systems would either over or under charge them. As long as they have a decent bms they are good to go.

I'd get a couple of the stock Yamaha mounting hooks from Jet Maniac, epoxy them in the hull to add a strap going across the battery.

Decided just to go with a new battery. Ordered a noco nlp14. 2.5 lbs instead of the 10 lb etx I was running. Also about 1.5inch shorter so that should help too. Guessing this will fix my issue!

I glued a aluminum plate to my hull. Tapped m6x1.0 threads into it. Got stainless allthread. Cut it 1 inch taller than my battery. And sandwich the battery between a piece of aluminum. It's by far the lightest, strongest battery setup I have seen.

I also turned some battery bolts and knurled the ends so my battery can be removed and installed completely by hand with no tools needed.
