Battery?

Need a battery for my superjet. Looking for a lithium battery or something lighter and smaller than a stock size battery. Also need something I can go get at a car parts store. I bought one 3 years ago but can't find the thread that it was on.

Deka etx9. Not sure about finding one at a car parts store but only $70 and Amazon can have it at your door in 2 days.

My local parts stores keep doing the bait and switch. They show Deka online, (or a similar branded solid terminal battery), but yet after i order and go to pick it up, i find it's the multi part terminal with the lead backing nut.

I switched to a Yuasa YTX20L-BS AGM because the original wet Yuasa YB16CL-B was spewing some acid out of the vent (no bueno).

The YB16CL-B is 13.4 lbs.
YTX20L-BS AGM 13.9 lbs.
YTX20HL-BS-PW AGM 15.1 lbs (What Yuasa recommends as the AGM equiv, but no way a 2 cyl needs the same batt as 4 cyl 4 stroke)
Deka ETX16L 17.0lbs
Deka ETX9 7.2lbs.

I'd probably go with an ETX12 or ETX14L for the CCA. Does the ETX9 have enough to spin it over with 120 CCA? Then again, people start Miatas with it so I am sure it is more than enough... wish it came in an L version. I did some searching and one member claims the SJ starter is 60-90A. So it would be more than OK. But if you sink the ski it is not going to cut it.

Should have plenty. I have a ytx9 (cheapest sealed 9ah 120cca battery that e-bay had) in my WDK rip with a 61x 701 and it spins it over just fine. It has 175psi comp. My superfreak has a stock 61x with 150psi and I have a 7ah emergency light sealed battery with 1/4" slip on connectors and 10g wires and it cranks over just fine. Maybe even better than the WDK. The battery is at least 3 years old and still doing well. I know that on the rip the battery has enough capacity to push all the water out of a completely sunk engine if you pull the plugs and still has enough to start it.....but it will be cranking slow by that point.

The 9 is perfect for a good running ski but if you have a problem child, it will likely leave you wanting for more. I've found the 12's are a good compromise between weight and capacity.
