Surfriding Beach cart tire options.... let here everyones opinion

Im reconfiguring my beach cart arsenal. And im looking for some tire options. Ive used the nanco/florida sailcraft 21" black tires and the wheeleez tires. The wheeleezs i like as they are light and roll nicely but i cant seem to keep them around long. They get holes or bubble out on the sidewall. For the last few years ive been running the florida sailcraft/nanco tires and they hold up well but are IMO too heavy. Not to mention both brands are very expensive. Lets here about some other options beyond these two.

Thanks in advance

I have seen people use Lawnmower tractor tires/wheels with success. The nice thing is you can usually get stuff like that dirt cheap on craigslist.

i looked awhile for different options as the sail craft wheels seemed a bit pricey. the cart/turf style 18" wheels dont really roll that well so i wanted something bigger and better. i almost pulled the trigger on some sandrail front tires with alum wheels some guy was selling on cl but i ended up just biting the bullet and spending the 250$ on florida sailcraft wheels. i figure they will last me a long time so might as well.

or you could do this V lol

I picked up a set of nylon composite rims from Florida Sailcraft and stuck on a set of Carlisle Fairway Pro 18X8.50-8 4 Ply Golf Cart and ATV Tires.
This is the same setup that my TBM cart came with other than upgrading the 1" aluminum driveshaft to stainless and replacing the Nylon bushings every couple of seasons.

Nylon composite rim $40.00
Stainless axle $22.00
1” nylon wheel bushing $2.00

Best pic I have available at the moment.

psh. I run snowblower tires on a steel shaft with no bearing, water and rust for lube, and water heater venting pipe framework. Been workin for 2 years now just beauty! :)

I can't tell from their website; are those split rims or one piece?

I don't think that homemade tube wheel setup will work for a ski, that guy looks to use it for a kayak or cooler. 250+ lbs may be asking a bit much.

Unfortunately there's not many options out there. You need large diameter for soft sand, non-steel for weight and rust concerns and that's what limits us.

I've been through a few progressions until I finally broke down and went with the Sailcraft wheels.

One were plastic Jeep Powerwheels wheels- good for hard pack like Daytona and regular land. Didn't float in the soft stuff though.

I've seen the Europe folks use four wheeled carts with what looks like these http://www.surpluscenter.com/Wheels/Wheel/Pneumatic-Wheels/7-5X2-INFLATABLE-TIRE-ASSY-1-1787.axd

20150403_190459.jpg My cart is over kill. I got it with a couch I parted but it was designed to haul the sit down to the water. I moved the bunks closer and use it around the house and dropping skis in the pool to test. I will test at the lake here in a few weeks but drill a few holes in the tires (look like wheelbarrow tires) to drain the water out. I love mine and makes a great shop cart pulling skis off the trailer with the winch. Now everything is a single person job!

What about plastic dock/boat lift wheels? Probably about as light as you're going to get.
