I haven't been to a freeride yet...what are the rules if I was wanting my truck, trailer.skis on the beach the whole time I was there??

--and do they close the beach down at night?

--do people sleep in the back of their cars/trucks out there??

probably stupid questions, but thats how I roll...

If I remember correctly beach opens @ 9 & closes @ 5. you don't want to leave your car there unless you like salt water in it. The tide comes in pretty far (and I think they will tow it)

so yes, they close the beach to cars at night.

as far as sleeping in your car, I suppose you can, if you have a hotel room at the lot you are parked in.

here, this should help http://volusia.org/beach/beach2.htm#bd

you MAY be able to pull down on the beach during the day, it is tide dependnt....4WD is pretty much a must

--and do they close the beach down at night?

yes, to vehicular traffic

--do people sleep in the back of their cars/trucks out there??

no..although you might be able to get away with it in the parking lot...But dont do anything that might give slutty a bad rep..it is a hotel after all, not a campground

probably stupid questions, but thats how I roll...

gotcha! thanks for the help...I have seen pics and people have their trucks and stuff down there, didn't know if they stayed down on the beach like that all night with their stuff, which entailed my question if people just sleep down there. The tahoe is 4wd, and my preference would be to have my stuff down on the beach while we were riding.

It looks like we get the passes to get on the beach at the toll booths???

yes, at the toll booth you have to pay 5 bucks to drive onto the beach...this is a DAILY pass

to launch, you need to pay beach patrol 25 bucks per ski...make sure to have all your reggie papers, boats properly numbered, fire ext, lanyard and HELMET...

the beach patrol fee is good for 1 month

There is a $5 per day per vehicle user fee to drive on the beach February 1 through November 30. The freeride is in Jan.

even if you COULD... I wouldnt recomend leaving a vehicle on the beach over night (or even through high tide for that matter).

you may never see it again.

What if i just bought one of my skis and haven't got it registered yet? Can i just bring the bill of sale to prove that?

FL law says you have to regesiter within 30 days of purchase, If it hasn't been 30 days you might get away with just a bill of sale proving that, but FL is a title state so I don't know if they will accept just a B.O.S. from out of state.

i got $20 for anyone with a 4x4 that could help pull my lowrider 2rwd truck out if i get stuck.

just in case! :haha:

Ski's are suppose to be registered in the state you are from. But, I am pretty sure there were several ski's there last time I was there that were race ski's that did not have registration numbers.
Contact the event promoter. He should be able to help you.
