Bendix bushing removal

can anyone who had been around a while explain what is going on in this thread post about bendix removal, the pictures are no longer working...

I've got a bushing that needs replaced and have the 1/2" tap but not sure what they are doing to get the bushing out.

Tap the in side of the bushing with the tap. Then put a 1/2-13 bolt in it. Grab it with some vice grips and work it out

If you use a bottoming tap (blunt on the end), you can just keep turning til it pushes the bushing out (put some lube on the end)

This is what I did last time, but I put a washer in there to act as a bit of a buffer with lots of grease.

i used a slide hammer and it takes two seconds if you have one.
