I had those wamilton carbon ones and ended up going back to stock and noticed ZERO power difference. The stock one doesn't look as pretty but it keeps out water a lot better. Any A.M. filters hold and absorb water....I know this is not what you wanted to hear but there is so many other upgrades that are necessities if you are going into the surf.

What carbs are u running?
He has the first version pictured in the link and a second version which has a shorter lid and is angled a little different to fit more hulls. I have the first version and he's sending me the second version lids. They look good

I run any prok style FA. I ride X2's and they have a horrible habbit of leaking like crazy all around the hoodseal if you just look at them funny. Not to mention they designed an air intake into the bildge , integrated into the hoodliner thats almost right on top of the carb area yet ive almost never had an issue with water ingestion unless my ski was away from me and tumbling in the surf by itself. People who have problems with water ingestion puzzle me. They must have bildge pumps that non stop pump water out.
Lmao! Good point, I run prok too and haven't had any water ingestion issues either surf or flat.

You could always bling up a stock filter with a vinyl wrap or something if you are not a fan of the black plastic.

I know where you are coming from and like yourself I get an idea in my head and go for it, no matter what advise I am given...( not a bad thing we just like to experience it for ourselves). Go with the wamilton carbon ones, they look great on there and you can probably sell them and get back some of your money when you are ready.
