Just got a gopro and pretty soon I'm gonna wanna put some footage together. What free programs are any good? Any of them easy to learn? Last time I made a video it was using Windows movie maker years ago in highschool, so that describes my experience lol

I was using the gopro software. It is free. It was working good (just slow, but that's my hardware). It would probably do most things in the beginning, until you want advanced options. I stopped using it before I finished my 1st edit because of my hardware.

I did find an app on my android tablet (tab 4 10) that I can cut and splice videos. It's called Vidtrim. It wasnt great by any means, but I could import videos to my tablet from my go pro via bluetooth then cut them down real quick, and its basic version is free. It is a good alternative to messing with my computer.

The software on the mac worked good too, but I try not to use my Wife's work laptop for such things.

I could never make Window Movie Maker work. I tried updating the codecs and what not but could still never get it to work with the mp4s.
just curious, but what advanced options were you looking for?

It does seem to eat up some serious computing power though, i tend to work on it with my desktop with an i5 - 4690k processor and a Nividia 970 graphics card to keep the video from stuttering in the playback screen.

I use Filmora, but its $50 for lifetime and it works awesome...and the tech support is outstanding! It used to be called Wondershare Video editor. I got tired of looking for free ones without the watermark and limited functions.

I just got into green screening/chroma key this weekend and it so much fun!

Post some videos you have made!

Anything new out there in the editing world? GoPro has this Quik software and so far I HAAAAAAAAATE it. Not user friendly for a dummy like me AT ALL! It doesn't seem like gopro studio is an option to download off of their site anymore. I heard that was much better.

I haven't found anything decent yet. I would like to find that software they are using where you can switch out faces in videos.

Bunch of Trump videos where made etc, but this is only example I can find:
