is there much performance difference from a stock milled head and one of the domed/girdled heads ive got a 96 superjet w a milled head and the cylinder is bored 1 over if so who makes the best one

I like ADA heads because of the replaceable domes and O rings. But a properly machined stock head will do the same thing if you don’t need a girdle kit.

It will work with a bored cylinder. Remember to always check your squish on stock and after market heads.

The girdle kit will help prevent cracking the cylinder - especially if you run a dry pipe.
The ADA shell will be the same wheather sleeves are stock or bored up. You simply choose dome size(diameter) based on you bore, be it 701 0r 760.
I like ADA as well as any head I have run. Domes are easy to find, and that's always a plus.

Aftermarket heads, whether girdled or not, usually have better cooling in them. Meaning bigger passage ways for the cooling water.

My Greater Yamaha girdled head has huge water passages compared to a stock 61x head.

Girdled heads help with not only the cylinders cracking, but also keep the bores from being out of round, or shifting if you will.

Interchangeable domes is really the better feature of girdled heads. However, a stock milled 64u head(96 and up stock superjet heads) will do the job just fine.

I have heard some stories from others about having to deck the cylinder to make sure its absolutely flat for girlded heads compared to stock heads for proper alignment.

Either way, make sure w/e compression you run is pump gas safe or run the right octane mix!!!!

That is cheaper than from ADA, but I have an ADA head already.
