Best lipo battery for limited slip tank with batt box

Been through a few antigravity batteries 16 and 20 cell fit. Box is approx 6 long by 4.5 wide. Hadn't found anything over 20 amp hrs 5000mah. These won't quite make 2 tanks with tl and minimal restarts.

480cca battey tender will just barely fit and last forever if you seal them and use the special charger. Ive never ran out of juice even after 4 tanks with total loss.

Wow impressive the 480 cca model I looked at by battery tender was listed at 6.7 inch long do u have a link to the model u have. How many mah do you get back in it after 4 tanks. I assume u mean 4.5 gallon lim slip tank ?My ski starts in one second. I never get a full 2 tanks and these batts i used are done. Maybe 3 starts a tank with no bilge

I have the newest 4.7 gallon version limitedslip7 tank and it barely fits. On the oldest version i had to cut it to fit the battery. I've never measured the mah. I think the battery has always been the same size.

I looked at the new specs for the lim slip. Says length is 6.375. The battery you are talking about that I saw was 6.9. Maybe you have something different. Send me the model number.
anyone else know a good light weight battery for this tank ?

I have the WPS 2518 and it fits like a glove in the 3.7 LS Tank with a single layer of turf wrapped around it. Some sites advertise it as 360 CCA but its really 300 CCA. I sealed the terminals and battery with 5200.

The battery tender models have all changed sizes since they converted them to smart batteries. It will now require cutting the tank regardless.

I know several have had good look with the Western Powersports Lithium batteries.
The advance battery I use is a wps relabel. The largest they make to fit in 6x4 batt box is 4ah 180 cca. Tl chews through that in no time and they won’t turn a motor over 200 Comp at all.

Cant tell on this one. I just purchased it a few weeks ago. So far so good, it does have a 1.5 year warranty.

I had a similar WPS battery that lasted 2 seasons with it being sealed. After 1.5 seasons I noticed the 5200 was coming off on the seam where the top of the battery is connected to the body. A few months later the battery lost juice and swelled. I should have resealed it, probably would have been able to use it another season or 2. To be honest, if I get 2 seasons out of a lithium battery its worth it for me.

This battery was highest CCA I could get with my 6 Inch width requirement. I run a 62T charging system.

Good info. I’m gonna try this one probably. 2 seasons would be great. I’ve never got that. To be fair I run msd tl and drain them lower. A tip on wps batts is use 3 m Elec tape around the seam. Clean with alcohol Stretch it tight and make 3 loops. They also fail at the voltage button. The plastic is thin And brittle over the internal switch and a tiny hole pokes in it under the switch. But a dap of black urathane caulk or 5200 right over the switch. Tinyest bit of water gets in there and it frys the board that try’s to balance the cells. These batts do have have nice flat cells. The antigrav and many others have dirt cheap cylindrical cells that are individually labeled and don’t come close to their states AH and cca

Here ya go
Thanks. That’s a lot of amp hours. Maybe I can find some old stock on eBay. Lim slip lists the new tank batt dem at 6.37 length mine is right at 6. Not sure if that measurement was takin turfed on both sides. I’m guessing it was and your not using turf. Those are the perfect Lipo mods to make a batt last. I also use a Lipo type charger

Did some searching on the 1000s of them on amazon and found this. Perfect size and 580cca. 102 watt hour less than 3 Lb and 5.9 inch long No idea on internal cells or quality. But stated power and price is right 150 bucks

Honestly I know they are pricey but you should look into the EarthX batteries. They are the only ones that are IP66 rated. I have a background in drone racing and have seen lithium batteries go off. EarthX was the only one that had under volt and over volt protection.

The battery tender 5.0Ah 300 CA says it is 5.3 x 3 x 5.5 inches little tall but might work
I have the 4.5ah in my xs1000 turns it over no problem
