I have been told by a few to go to a local by me, Bill Bune.

Thanks for all the tips guys! Great ideas! And I honestly had no idea about washing them before putting the motor back together! Thanks for saving me from that one!

douglee25 - I have no idea of the correct way to chamfere the ports, would it be a better idea to let a first timer ask to look over the sholder of someone, or is it something thats hard to mess up as long as I make sure to get the lip down far enough? I just have a hard time trusting myself with a dremal and a freshly bored cylinder....

If you've never done it, I wouldn't recommend it then. Watch someone first before you try on your own. Another thing you could do is buy a beat 2 stroke cylinder (it wouldn't even have to be a jetski cylinder) and practice on it until you get the hang of it. The shop should be able to do it if they are reputable though. If the shop does it and you're still unsure, take a few pics for anyone on the forum and we should just be able to look at it and tell you if it's good enough.

I also have the best equipment for boring honing and proper chamfering on two stroke cylinders. I have bored over 8000 cylinders in my lifetime. I started at 16, I'm almost 47 now...I have a Rottler boring bar and Sunnen Honing equipment, Sunnen has the best honing equipment in my opinion. I use special honing head stone sets that's intended for honing bores with keyway slots in them, these stone sets have a double stone and double shoe on each holder. This is the best set-up I have used to make 2 stroke cylinders very straight and round. Single stone honing heads just won't get the bores as true.
I'm in Florida so I'm a few days away shipping, but most of the time I can provide a 3 day turnaround service. I have 3 local powersport shops I sublet all their boring work.
Just wanted to let some of you know these facts about me and this service I can do. I'm always here on the board with all of you...

Has anyone had GORDY ( I think pacific jetsports) do any boring and machine work?

Ive contemplated the cheap piston deals they have, and they offer cheap boring also.

Gordon is a good man he knows what hes doing im not all familiar with the boring prices i havent been around that recently.
I work for him during the summer and weekends when i can. He does good work though for good prices

Nick, call me, I know a few 2 stroke shops in the area. Order your pistons, bring them with you, they cut the hole to match and they chamfer the ports.
