What is the best possible engine for freestyle that is has 62t cases and a stock strock crank???

would it be a big bore with 85mm flattop pistons? what sleeves? Let me know people? i have heard about strockers and all that cool stuff, but i am not financially prepared to take on an engine that has very little reliablility compared to the stock stroke engines....

Big bore 86.5mm flattop Lamey P.V. (799.2 cc's) is about the best with stock stroke, has more port and is legal cc's for amateur competition if your going to limit the stroke...otherwise a setup like I built for Pat Bogart/x-metal for the Nat's and WF was a 783cc 8mm stroker with a flattop/Lamey P.V. combo The motor we ran...I had built it for sombody else about 3 years ago and just redid some porting and freshend up w/ seals, piston and ring and added water injection with a mag pump...
Sorry, but your confused on strokers...Stroker's are not unreliable it's more dependent on the engine builder using quality parts and proper set-up than being a stroker crank! I have No reliablity problems with MY stroker motors as I heard of my motors still running great and never been apart in over 3-4 years! Ask around...

well i didnt mean so much as unreliable, but i was referring to expensive. like if i roasted the crank it would be 1200 instead of 400.... and i put a TON of time on my engines , 4 tanks of gas per week

I'll have to join in here and agree with you---especially since I have one of your 5mm strokers myself. I have not had ONE problem with my engine---not sure how long Derek had it before me, but I've had it a year and a half with zero issues.

Nice!!:arms: I love the standard stroke Lamey NP motor. More power than any 61x cylinder will ever give. You also never have to worry about cracking the cylinder either:woot:

I running a 85mm, standard stroke lamey pv cylinder w/ kawi flat tops and 180lbs compression. Nice reliable set up. Definatly port the cases and run a good set of carbs on there....... Dual 48's and up. Even those Full Spec 49's are sweet. I am working on getting my pump hooked up well now. currently running a 13/17 concord. Looking to go to a 13/16 trued picted cut back concord w/ a TBM racing super cone and 85mm bored nozzle.

If reliablity is not an issue put a MSD TL on there and that will give you more low end snap. Ski would be an arm jerker for sure :woot:

I have heard that the Non-PV motors are better for low end power, but the PV motors makes more peak power.......That is just what I heard, I don't really have any experience there.

If lamey's are out of your price range a BB-kit w/ a good set of carbs is the next best option...........and again TL would not hurt but may be sacraficing some reliablity.

I have found that a good set of carb(s) is the foundation for making clean power on any set up.

ill back chuck up on his motors as well, i just finally met him not too long ago when buy a handlepole from him but i know close personal friends that run his motors and they by far last many years (5-6 years to be exact and going stong with all sorts of abuse)
if you need a motor chucks your guy!

no pv makes more low end the top end is the same between the egines
the more low end punch comes from having a lower exhaust port height

wouldnt it be the same with a normal jug (besides the obvious port differences)

Puts me at about 780cc's. No way did my 701 hit like this motor nor would a bb 701/760 cylinder hit like a lamey. The lamey is just a better set up by design, I think we can all agree on that.

if you are concernred about price, but want mad power...how bout that jetworks 4mm stroker kit, thats in your backyard..

 i agree its pretty amazing the power art makes. just got mine and still amazed. best 2200.00 you will spend and comes with girdle ada head.

Find a reputable builder, LPW, Team Scream, TLR (If Todd will still do your cylinders), Watcon or Jetworks and have them build you a strong reliable 84mm BB using 61X cylinders, a good head with about 180 lbs compression.........

I am running 83mm TLR setup with Team Scream tweaked 44's..... several people here have ridden my ski, Paul (LPW) Jeremy Parr and others....... It is a solid setup....... No, it is not an arm ripper like a Lamey setup, but just good solid power. LPW just build Taylor Curtis's current motor setup. Might contact him and see how he likes his setup.

I think the power difference between a properly set up 61x and a half-assed lamey isn't worth the price difference. ;)
