Best Trailer Set Up For Expensive Skis?

Hands down Rolls Axle makes some of the nicest aluminum trailers you can buy. They used to only make boat trailers, but they have recently begun making PWC trailers. Check em out:

Definitely not cheap, but not as expensive as the $5000 one that was posted earlier. I believe I heard that their large double runs close to $2000.

I would buy a single or double aluminum triton elite. NO wheel hop at any speed. They are light, corrosion resistant and have torsion axles. I personally wouldn't buy a steel trailer after owning an aluminum one.

Agreed, but wiring on those can turn into a nightmare, especially with the custom lights.

Oh, and it's only four wires, some relays in the towing vehicle, corroded LEDs in the left brake light, and "the green wire must be touching the ground sometimes".

Wiring on trailers is simple ,a nice clean ground is the key .

Lets see it

triton full aluminum deck and frame , torsion axels . removable bunks to put up to three atv's w ramp at back removable . side kit as well available .
i will be ugrading it again to aluminum bunks with starboard slides . the rails you can actually pivot up to hold 2 sitdowns .
another option for you though is a snowmobile clam shell type same frame but wood deck which could be upgraded to aluminum and clame shell top is removable and lifts up to access the skis .

Sounds like a lot of you prefer a aluminum trailer, I know they are the best for enduring salt corrosion but will the lightweight frame and wheels hold up on looooooong road trips? The people I spoke to so far warn of wheel hop at freeway speeds.

Maybe with an empty trailer but when you load it up with ski's and gear it weighs as much as a regular trailer minus the difference of the aluminum .

I think it would be fine and salt kills everything steel in a few years so I will not buy another galvanized trailer ever .

I sand blasted and re painted my steel old school double stand up Ziemen trailer about 3 years ago. Cheap Earl Schieb paint job. It is no doubt rusty now, but still holding up. I am always keeping my eye open for an upgrade, but if I don't upgrade I bet it will last atleast another 3 years.

plus you only have to drive 5min or less to go ride....

oh yea i dont know if i told u but i was driving down 101 in ventura with my SUV on the back and the trailer popped off the ball when i was doing around 75-80 in the am when it was still dark out...all i could see were sparks coming from behind the truck so i just coasted to a stop, it took about a mile or so to stop...the safety chains were ground almost all the way through and hanging on by a thread..

no... the part the ball mounts to is all wallowed out so there is allot of slop, the ball moves like a 1/2" in all directions..i was going to fast on that bumpy part by emma wood and it just popped off...the hitch was still down in the locked position and everything with the pin through it...it was kinda weird..

adjust the hitch

no..the part thats wallowed out is the hole in the hitch that the threaded part of the ball goes through...the nut is seized on the threads on the ball but its a turn or two shy of being tight...its been like that for a while so now the hole in the hitch is egg shaped..ive put a 5ft breaker bar on the nut and it wont budge so i either need to replace the whole set up or just keep my fingers crossed :fingersx:
