What do you guys think of a 2014 EME Q8 hull 798 motor? He's asking $10k. I could buy this now and build a bigger motor in April. Thoughts?

Thrust single finger throttle CPT built 4 mil stroker Ada head with race gas domes
Php intake with Vforce 3 reeds
Dual 48 novis PFP pipe
TDR water box
Thrust 2 gal fuel cell, with blue bullet cap
Total loss electronics, set into a custom fully sealed ebox, powdered coated black.
OEM Yamaha midshaft
Ada bullet couplers
Aluminum pump shoe, milled down to fit the Q8 hull 148mm
setbackTorrent pump with a 12/17 big hub thin blade prop
Xmetal trim system with protec nozzle

I think your list is missing some key parts that add up. (trim, prop, gas tank, midshaft, etc) Heck, it all adds up!

Hands down you'll never get a better vale than a used ski RTR, tho you also buy their existing "unknown" problems. Building your own from scratch with used parts will give you better reliability (if your detailed and build well). Also you'll learn how to fix it when it breaks, but come at a higher cost and time. I've got friends who do both. Both work!

I'm up the road from you in Limerick. Our group rides at Black Rock, Blue Marsh, and Corson's mostly. Find Eastern PA Phlatwater Freaks on FB if you wanna connect with some local riders.

Thanks for the info. I'm kinda thinking i should buy something RTR. I can always tear it apart and rebuild the way i like it next winter or something.

I'm actually in the Phlatwater Freaks group and have ridden with a few folks from the group. I typically ride at Blue Marsh and Corsons, but am planning to frequent black rock on weeknights this year.

I’ve ridden that ski several times and it’s a ripper. Thought about buying it myself. Plus Chris is a great guy and the layup quality is probably better than an actual EME.

Not sure if someone already posted this carbon havoc but this is a pretty sweet rtr as well and probably less than an hour from Malvern.

Yeah I am very close to you if you want to look at it. Pretty sure it's the best deal you're gonna find on a carbon RTR ski being I am asking what most people are asking for used ski's and this is still everything but BRAND NEW!
I had better offers last spring so I will be raising the price again and this time just more willing to negotiate. But as of now I'll still entertain $12k or "somewhere" close. Let me know. Not in any rush to sell but the wife would love it if it was out of my garage now that my Rickter is here!!

Glad your happy Jordan. Definitely an awesome looking ski, I will miss looking at her! Wasn't my style of a hull but it did look good in my garage!
