Other Best way to syphon gas

Not sure if anyone does it this way so i thought i would post. I found out if you pressurize the tank it will start the syphon for you. all you have to do is release the gas cap before it runs out of pressure. Then basically use your fuel pickups to syphon it out. Here is what i do:

-Pull reserve line off carb or fuel selector. mine is able to reach my gas can when sitting on the ground (must be below the gas tank)
-clean the gas off the end of the fuel line, blow into it. you should hear bubbles inside your gas tank. one good breath should do it.
-put the end you just blew into in your gas can
-as soon as gas starts coming, release the pressure in your tank by unscrewing the filling cap. if you do not, the syphon will stop as soon as the pressure normalizes again.
-sit back and drink a beer without the taste of gas in your mouth

You could also ease some air into it with your air gun via compressor then you have no chance at all of getting gas in your mouth.

Yup i do this every year.. before storage. the snowblower/lawnmower does not like the pre-mixed leftovers.

just be careful. you could possibly damage your check valve.

O'Reilly's sells a hand pump that works pretty good, I just bought one for $18.00. You can also use it as an air pump too.

i always just add marine stabilizer on the last few runs of the season, and leave whats in the tank there.

I have one of those shaker syphons which works great as long as theres at least 4" of gas to syphon. Any less its hard to get the syphon going

All of you fail. Easy, easy, get 6-7ft of clear 5/8th hose, traditional siphon but you can watch the fuel travel and never taste a drop.

This is exactly what I was going to say! Clear hose is the best bang for buck method….. Been doing this for three years.
