Best ways to restore a SJ gas tank ?

Let it soak in a bucket of it.... Scrubbed it.... Rinsed and repeated.... did nothing... Purple Power got all the grease out and made it white again...

I haven't tried it on a fuel tank, but a heat gun often times can make faded plastics look new again

An old fuel tank has a lot of vapor. I would not suggest going near it with a heat gun.

Yeah it does work on dirtbike fenders where they bend and turn white, or on chalky black steering nozzle, but a fuel tank will explode lol!!

Yea, bleach won't do anything.. You have to use hydrogen peroxide and some other chemicals combined to make a gel and then put in a clear bag, in direct sunlight. (Bleaching like you would hair)

Just flush the tank with your cars exhaust (co2) first and you'll be fine.

I scrubbed mine with simple green and brillo pads. Cleaned stains but it remains a 20+ year old yellow tank. I don't really care as long as it holds fuel to be honest, lol

I'm not super pressed over it but was curious if anyone had any experiences with bringing the white-ish color back

Bleche-white tire cleaner works really well, it doesn't take all the yellowing out but seems to help some. I have used it on the last few tanks I have cleaned up.
