Freestyle better to buy, 94 Super jet or FX1???

Why do people say the SJ is better??
Ok ok, I mean except for the little baby pump, which can be swapped for a superjet pump if you want it bad enough....
It seems to me that the FX1 is smaller and lighter, and with the same pump and motor as an SJ, wouldnt that mean that a good rider could do more with an FX1 than an SJ?

yes to all lol

if i could go back i would have started with the fx, coming from a 550 i felt like a sj was huge

The FX-1 is an awesome 2nd ski to have. If you want to Freestyle, you are better off picking up the SN, then picking up an FX-1 at a later date.

I'm not taking anything away from the FX-1, it's just that odds are you will like the SN better.

Yeah i bought the sj for 1200 from a chick who had no clue what she had, got a smokin deal, now just need to make sure motors not :):):):)ed over and il be good. This is my 2nd sj btw, i had a 90 sn but its at my lake house and dont ride it anymore

I rode a friend of mines stock FX1 last week and loved it. Needless to say I have tracked down a hull and will be picking it up soon lol

Seems fx1s have issues with the motormounts coming off the fiberglass bottom. Not to mention the tiny pump and tiny tray. I myself cant stand them and think yamaha did a good thing by only making them for 2 years and then discontinuing their copy of kawis 550. But Im a 550 hater deep at heart.

On the other hand, they sure are fast skis, they just dont have the oomph on the bottom end that a "big" superjet has because of its pump. Sorry I got 2 buddies with fx1s that swear they are the best thing short of a bob. One even said those exact words. they are good skis, just not what Id want for doing freestyle. Lots feel the same way, lots dont.

Check out all the freestyle vids on youtube. Namely the ones done in 1997, there is a comparison between a fx1 and a sj. Both sponsored riders. Could only find 1 barrel roll vid of a fx1, and it failed so I dunno.

Theres a reason they stopped making them. They are a good novelty ski, but for any serious freestyle, nah. I can do everything I can do on my sj on my buddies fx1, just feels way more tippy and like Im going to bust my shins in the tiny ass tray. Not to mention they all feel like they are cavitating on the bottom unless they have the perfect prop in them, because of their tiny ass pump behind a larger motor.

Dont forget the fiberglass top and bottom thats gonna break all to hell real fast on them, just like the blasters do.

Sorry but its the superjet forum and saw guys talking up the fx1s, ha edit; it isnt the superjet forum my bad
