Big bore + 155 mag pump = what prop?

I'm actually thinking of sticking a tbm pumpstuffer in a complete oem 155 pump assembly from a gp1200 and matching it up with a big bore 760 in surf orented aftermarket hull like a aquabot v2. If its even possible to get a prop pitched that shallow enough, the question is what prop and what pitch?

I was planning on the same thing except a fixed steer.... post what you found out if you don't mind! i have the motor, just now looking at pump options

7/10. Wow! Closest I can find is Thrust with a 7/15. I guess it will have to be a custom bent prop either by me or someone else.

I would say thats a decent starting spot at 7/10 No matter what all props are custom made. It just depends what someone has guessed at for inventory Skat only makes to order. You would really need more details on your motor, pipe, electronics, ride style, etc. But with a surf hull the heavier the higher you need to go. So without more data thats a good guess.

@McDog

He ran a 7/10 swirl. Was a big hub prop. I saw it before he put it in the ski.

I also spent a bunch of time riding it at his lake and in the surf. That pump setup made that ski really shine. That thing is a competition level freeride ski ready to go.

Yes. I have always like the 12/17 pitch for riding style but on a 155 pump I would need a big ass reduction nozzle. I am running a 90mm ring in my nozzle now. I can go upto 95mm if I remove the ring altogether. I just wasn't sure my small motor could hit hard enough running a 12/17 with a 95mm nozzle so I opted for the 9/15. I think anything lower is too low but not everyone has an adjustable reduction nozzle to play with.

But isn't it true that you can run a taller prop gearing on an oem 155 pump vs a mag ?

Personally I would run the 9/15 and go bigger on my reduction rings until I had the motor loaded enough. If I had a 12 or 14 vein section in my pump. I always want to run the tallest prop I can pull, not the shortest.

Cool ,just noting some input that It was just my understanding that a pump can be loosened up in other ways as well.Either via the reduction nozzle dia. or the number of veins in the stator or even the prop proximity to the stator section .i guess its all part of the recipe to prop size ?
