Big bore + 155 mag pump = what prop?

No question there are many ways to load and unload. I expect the oem pump with a pumpstuffer cone to be very mag pump like. I was thinking of getting a prop a little taller than I expect to need so that I can bend it up or down a little until I'm happy. Maybe a 8/12 to start. I expect the oem 1200 gp exit nozzle is a little on the large side.

If i remember correct ,I think the GP 1200 nozzle was like 87.5 dia which is a great place to start .but if compared the length of the reduction nozzle of a smaller pump ,the volume of water in the 155 reduction is much larger .so for a base line tune an 8/12 will be a good start and see which direction you may need to go .

I have a few nozzles on the shelf. I thought they could be bored out paper thin to 88mm so I got a skat gp1300 nozzle. I think I have gp1100 nozzles, it's been a while since I looked at them.

@McDog

He ran a 7/10 swirl. Was a big hub prop. I saw it before he put it in the ski.

I also spent a bunch of time riding it at his lake and in the surf. That pump setup made that ski really shine. That thing is a competition level freeride ski ready to go.

Does it have oem or mag pump?

So it would be a little different with a tbm pump cone in it. More like a mag pump. Does that load the prop more so the pitch needs to be more shallow or vice versus?

I was unsure so I went in the middle. With three tail cone sizes and adjustable nozzle rings you should be able to get a load on the motor that works. I feel like mine could use a little more load now that I have been on my buddy's 155. He is running a different hull so it's not a good comparison. He runs a 14 vein with a lower pitch and I think, a smaller nozzle diameter and smaller tailcone. With all that it feels like it has a more loaded hookup. #alexhockey

I won't have rings to adust but the TBM pumpstuffer comes with a couple tailcones i think. I will just be working with an oem pump setup from a gp1200.

Kavanagh ran an oem 155 with a pump stuffer for a long time and had good luck with it. That was on a 1200 though..

If its going in a SJ based ski you will require a different driveshaft unless you dont mind 5/8" worth of spline engagement. Dont forget the Jetmaniac post about this a year or so ago with photos of the different lengths

I have not checked my spline engagement. Whatever it is at has been holding for 3 years now. I will be checking it when I pull my pump out this winter.

I plan to run a SJ driveshaft. Especially since I sold the gp1200 shaft to Jetmaniac a year ago!

Do you guys know who makes or sells a 155 pump shoe to fit in a 144 pump tunnel? As if I had an older XFS that predates the 155 pump tunnels XFS. I thought I read about a new product that would allow for this. Rickter sell this or maybe JetDynamics. I am out of the loop on all the new pump shoes. Let me know. Thx.
