Octane Big bore kits?

Location
Pa
I was just wondering what are my options for a big bore kit for the 777 motors? I've read some go with ves snowmobile cylinders and have them big bored. Any tips or links would be great

Erik (egbrig) built my engine. We pieced it together, but it came out great and looks amazing too! He even has the CAD to CNC the power valve housings at the local shop has uses.

Alex..ballpark what did you pay to have that 950 built? did you have to source all the parts or did Erik have his own polaris allies?

Cylinders and pistons came from The Crank Shop in Vermont. Bought them unfinished. Erik did the port work, then had to send them out to have the bores done. I bought a brand new Polaris crank off one of the internet places and a used set of 700 cases from here. He did the porting and made the cases fit. Head came from Power Factor, cut to our specs, and they wanted an outrageous price for the cylinder studs (because they're so long, they said they have to custom make them). Erik's guy was able to make them for just a little more than the price of the stainless rod though. We were going to try modifying the cylinders to work with DASA valve housings, but Erik had the CAD for it and was able to adjust it to fit the bolt pattern on these cylinders, so we have custom low profile power valves. Head pipe didn't need any grinding. Though the engine plate needed to be clearanced for the pipe because the cylinders angle the pipe down more than the stock 777 cylinders. The caps for the valves still came from DASA though. The valves I think came with the cylinders. All in all, Erik helped me out a lot and I ended up paying around $4000 and several 12 packs of Sam Adams. That was all parts. The only labor was for his machine shop guy.
The total loss makes a big difference too, even on the stock 777. And I still only run 46mm old Novis. I can't wait to try some 48s...!

Just outside of Fairfax Va. Ride spots are potomac river and lake anna. looking forward to wave days. still have to put my octane back together. ive been dragging my feet on a refoam, scupper and reinforcement.hood liner is falling out. repairing some cracks and galges on the bottom. its in pieces at the moment.

I dont know what the attraction to this hull is..i have a love/hate relationship..dont ever want to sell it. it rides strait and hot... turns like a school bus...leaks like swiss cheese..octane love!!

are you running trim on yours? ive been debating a longer protec nozzle and maybe a xmetal or thrust setup...but just dont know if it will be worth it on a full length hull like this. ive never had it in surf but have chased down many big boat wakes out on the river..curious to see if it is worth trying and installing while opened up..or just skip it all together.. shes lighter for sure. i removed approx 18lbs or so of wet nasty foam...i hate to put 2 part back in it..only to have water seep back in again..

Put the trim tube in at least while it's open. I run the X Metal trim and like it. The long protec nozzle is not worth it though, run the 62t plastic one. And put the Watcon hull drains in it to let some of that water back out.

IMO trim is waste of time and money on a long hull. I had it on my Sj and never really gained anything. It will help with a larger setup wake, but otherwise it won't get much use. If you're serious about learning flatwater rolls, by all means install it. Otherwise, you'll be happy with one less hole/ tube to leak water in ;) You'd need a serious v wake to flip that thing......otherwise you'll just beat yourself and your ski up.

yea got the watcon drains. i am kinda with phillip on this..shes a big b*tch... they are awesome lake boats for chasing down wakes and pretty much going fast and keeping it under control.. never expect it to flip or roll on the lake..still wanna take it in the surf for some air..just to kick that off the list!
