He had a shark / stingray on his leg... the comments below describe it - gummy shark?

Not trying to say you are wrong, but the guy who made/filmed/posted the video said it was a stingray on his leg...
Im not a doctor so I cannot verify that it was a Seizure, but it wasn't a gummy shark.. lol i ride with this group of guys, i didn't think anybody would be reeled in with the tagline.

Perhaps he was seeing black and was naturally trying to swim to the top for air? .. like I said the guy doesn't remember anything after leaving the wave..

Gosh I wish I had video for you. Taylor Curtis and myself hit the same wave in Pismo Beach CA from opposing sides and busted re-entrys towards each other. landed literally inches from each other and almost rubbed shoulders trying to turn away from each other.... Holy smokes. closest i've come to hitting someone

I was gonna suggest the SXR vid but someone else found it. The SJ vid is good as well. I agree with an above poster as well, proper maintenance is a very good topic. Lanyard safety as well, attaching to your life vest vs. wrist. Your in AZ and know no safety classes need to be taken in this state but it would be a great idea if Game and Fish did make it mandatory.

We were out at Pleasant a couple weeks ago and some morons on couches were turning donuts in the no wake zone WITHOUT life jackets. I ran over and told them to knock it off and sure enough both people on the skis were 13 or 14 who probably had minimal experience on the skis. I got dirty looks the rest of the day, but whatever.

I know most of us do it as well, but you could also discuss drinking while riding.

wow, what a thread.
The runnaway SXR brings back a nightmare for sure. Been there done that in a lake with no waves to slow it down. Gil and Keefer ran it down and Gil 007 jumped onto the 40 mpr WDK REV and killed it. Lanyard every since. They had to keep it from running ashore once, then from hitting anchored boats in a cove then from shore again then from the very barge I had hit the wake from initially then the 007 dive.
I went into a stab off a huge wake, Gil can confirm I was vertical with the nose 10' from the water. When I left the water the ski reved to the limmiter on T/L so 8000 rpm and when the nose went in it kept pulling me down while I dangled off the back holding the bars. I finally turned it upward and when it cleared the water it left me behind and took off like a bat outa he!!.

I have NO idea why it didnt shut off when I hit the water or why it never ran out of air under water and choked itself out but it didnt and I half expected the hood liner to be suck off of the hood but it wasnt.
Crazy stupid scarey encounnter. These skis are potential missles without lanyards regardless of where you ride. The ski had the potential of destroying a $60.000.00 cruiser that was docked to start had it not been for Keefer.

So glad the presentation went well. Now, for the love of god, please stop with the nightmare videos. Ha ha ha...

The brake didnt work? weird, I thought that last 5ft or so would have been enough lol. That had fail written all over from the time two guys got on the same ski
