SURF RIDERS:
What are you using to hold bilge pump to the hull?

I have tried the two part plastic welder it keeps coming undone. Now one of the prongs on the bracket broke off. I would like to get this thing secured! Its under my ebox on the 750 so not my favorite job to do every other ride.

I have been sandin with 60 grit each time.

Would a two part epoxy or even 5200 work better then the plastic welder?

Thanks

The ones in my 07 were glued down with 5200 and seem to be stuck quite well. I believe they were installed when the hull was still shiny and new though.

I picked up a bunch of the small squeeze tubes of 5200 from Walmart on sale for $5 each if you want one when you stop by this afternoon.

I used 4200 on yours, and the hull was sanded underneath the mounting cups. I have used 4200 on all my bilge pumps. 5200 just takes waaaaaaaaaaaay too long to cure.

rule 1100 auto wedged between my tank and the flywheel cover let it bounce around 5200 never held for me and neither did epoxy. all that chit broke free from the hull and is still stuck to the bottom of the pump.

well maybe i will try some 5200 i might have some left. I am sick of pulling the ebox to do this every other ride.

I have a blowsion bracket but it holds the pump a good 1/2 off the bottom of the hull so it doesnt remove all the water. so i dont use that anymore.

thanks for the help.

I use 4200 as well since fast cure 5200 is hard to find. I actually just knocked the bilge pump off after using it since march but it was my fault because I pulling hoses and knocked it. I tried all the epoxies in the past and they just don't hold up.

i used west systems epoxy and 404 filler on mine and its not going anywhere. i broke the clips off so i just silicone the pump to the cage and it doesnt go anywhere. easy to remove too. this time i used e-6000.

Jordan, too bad I got called in to work sunday, I have half a dozen of the small sqeeze tubes of 5200 I snagged at Walmart a while back for $5 a tube I was going to throw a couple your way.

West Marine stocks Fast cure 5200 in white and black.

Where mine are glued down there isn't enough room to put the stock siphon bilge in so I want to bust em loose and move them someday.
I like using the brackets myself but I hear ya on them not sucking bottom, even glued to the bottom they don't suck right down.
