Billet Magnum Pump?

I have seen a few top freestyle skis have a 'billet magnum pump'
Does Skat-Trak make them or are they being made by the builders?
What is the weight difference to a full s/s one?

Skat has the housing made by someone else and then assembles them. I think it's only for the 148mm but I'm probably wrong. They are sold by skat. I think the main benefit is that there is a ton less fab work since the old style was covered with welded on reinforcement.

I thought X-Metal was making them for Skat. There was a thread and pic on here a while back.

Doesn't your SE 800 X2 hull use a Yamaha pump? I bet that is why you are asking because you want one :)

Yeah I believe Pat or Radney were the ones that made the post too. I have the pic of it somewhere.

Edit:

Look what I just found on XFT's website:

The billet is lighter, but not by a lot. maybe a lb or 2.
The price is actually the same.
It's available in any size.
The billet 148 is considerably smaller than the modded stock pump, making it much easier to install.
You can purchase them thru any Skat dealer.

Matt you can get the cast Skat 800 SXR mag pump for you Envy. I want one myself but even with the Virgin parts man special deals I can't justify buying one. Hello TBM cone then!

skat can use a blaster 2 drive shaft and modify it to work... saves you $400 for the new drive shaft

Why chance it.
For the extra 4 hundy it's worth using the Skat-trak drive shaft.

There's a big diffenence between mag pump & TBM cone. Me & my boy Joe P tested back to back on limited sxr's. His blueprinted oem pump with TBM cone & me with 6 vane mag. The mag pumped boat with hold harder it the turns and help hook up when following in jetwash. Don't get me wrong the TBM gives a ton more hook up than just a plain oem pump but it's not a mag:Banane19:

Yeah that's why I want a mag. But you know me, It wouldn't get installed anyways. Is the performance worth the extra weigh though? I would do a 12 or 14 vane, cast stainless mag if I had the extra loot. But buyign a house is more of a priority for me now. Skis are becoming a distant second. Plus I don't ride until it is at leeast 75 out for a straight two weeks and that won't happen for another few more months.
