Billet strap hook install—epoxy?

Hi again-
So I am installing a Power Factor laydown pipe and it is necessary to install strap hooks onto the hull to support the pipe and waterbox as well as the new fuel tank. Blosion has billet strap hooks and I was thinking I could set them in epoxy. The photos Power Factor provided shows the straps in what looks like a fiberglass patch.
Epoxy would sure be easier.
Any opinions?
Thanks in advance.

I have a pfp. I used those ufo mounts. I mixed 2 part epoxy, with black dye, and a lil bit of cabosil. Glued em down with a decent amount protruding from the holes. And it's been good for 2 seasons.

I also leave my hooks semi floating. Not all the way tigh. So they can twist with the strap

That’s good advice and I will adding cabosil to the mix.
Thanks

I just did this a month ago, I used Gflex 650 with west system 404 filler to hold pipe and kart tank, super strong

make sure you buff the desired area surface with sandpaper and then clean it with alcohol for maximum adhesion

you can use a bolt to lay down the mounts, and make sure you put small piece of tape on the bottom hole so epoxy doesn't go through and ruin ur threads

good luck

Yeh. Idk. I used epoxy and cabosil. Not glass over the top. Put grease on a m6 bolt to protect the threads. That was 2 years. Prob 3000 barrel rolls, flips, and 360s ago.

I have used those UFO'S before with epoxy cabosil and had them come loose , it depends on what you are using them for but the G flex is more flexible to absorb shocks, cabosil is hard as a brick bat, just my two cents, don't spend it all in one place.

I have had a ufo come loose using gflex but I use a 5 gallon tank which definitely puts some stress on things. I fixed it using epoxy with wet out glass on top to make coming loose impossible.

Doing the 3 points of bonding on the mounts as you and @Roseand have done works period. Did it on all the hulls l have built. You might have an occasional failure, but that is to be expected. Epoxy is just to brittle by itself
