Blackjacks

Based on prices people ask for carbs and what I was quoted from Art, not a whole terribly lot..well worth just getting a carb sent to me ready to go rather than worrying about the jetting, purchasing jets/springs/rebuild kits, people selling you junk, and less riding time...
That's the right move , after having blackjacks i will always support them, great carbs, art sends them ready to bolt and go and will always have time for any conversation if you have any issues

These pipes are not in production anymore (type 4) are they?? Why did they stop producing them if they are a good pipe? Seems if they were a good product and outperformed everything else they would have continued producing them?? (Not sarcastic just asking)
Most people didn't like the maintenance and can be difficult to install and tune. b-pipes have great low end hit, easy to tune and almost maintenance free. Dry pipes are making a come back forsure, new ones are pricey but with a few small garage mods an older dry pipe can almost be maint free as well.

What kind of maintenance was needed for the pipes? Was it the pipes themselves or tuning issues? Were the dry pipes similar to the jacketed b pipes I've seen? The water flows around the pipe much like a cylinder flows water In the cooling jackets and back out?

They are hard to get in and out, usually have to trim hood and rails to make fit, couplers had issues if not properly aligned, lord mounts ripd also with out good alignment. They make carb tuning a bit more sensitive, lots of chamber cracks but like I said with a few garage mods you avoid all those issues. Most guys just got sick of it and didn't want the hassles anymore. I say if you want a wicked boat you have to work on it, if not stay stock and shut up! I'm on season 3 with no issues with my dry pipe

The Type 4 pulls hard top to bottom, but like previously said they are a bit more of a pain for maintenance. You can't pull your head off without taking the pipe out which is a pain in the ass. They are less forgiving in terms of tuning, you need to be spot on or else things tend to melt.

They are really fun pipes and the price is right.

Those of you running AM carbs, how are y'all running your FA? Art mentioned his are only compatible with the AM arrestors, and I really would like to use my stocker..it seems I see a few people still maintaining the factory arrestors..can this be done?

Wow, those things are expensive..I just don't really like the idea of using the AM style arrestors..I had one on an old 650sx and it seemed every time I laid it over I was having to run the water out of it...I've seen the rain coats, but still it can't be better than stock?

I may be willing to let go a set of wamiltons adapters with stock boxes that would work with your blackjacks.
