As far as all the back and forth one thing will always stay true:

Tune the Rider, not the Ski.

Ride time is more fun and a lot cheaper than all the time spent on mods!

Even though I was one of the fruity ballerinas that take their hand and feet off upside down, I've been fully entertained by all of this. And that is how it should be viewed...this stuff is for fun. And I don't mind a strong personality stating their opinion, it's certainly better than silence.

For the record, I've gone through all different kinds of configurations as far as straps, holds and a combination of the two. I hate the way straps don't allow a lateral movement of your feet...that has lead to some knee issues for me. But I like the leverage advantage they provide...so as I start to ride again I'm giving that a shot. Most of the time when I was doing anything that was considered surfing, I had my feet out of what ever kind of hold, strap, etc. I was using in the back, and kept a foot, or toe under the front strap for leverage. I like to move my feet around, if I'm on a surfboard or a ski.

There are some very valid points in this thread, but if anyone is offended, you are taking this too seriously.

good perspective on the subject

Just have to add...this thread is what makes this sport cooler than any other....

If you ski, or surf, or snowboard, or do motocross....your not going to get to go on a forum and bs with Travis, or Shaun, or Tanner, or Kelley...

let alone show up at a Freeride, have them give you some tips and ride their bike/skis/board. Long live stand-up Freeride.

That is true.
It's very cool to meet and talk to "the big boys". But, I have to admit that, even at my age, I find myself a bit starstruck in their company. lol.
Just regular guys that ride really freakin' well!
Sat with some of those incredible riders Sunday night after Daytona for dinner. Not gonna drop names, but they seemed to be great guys, regular dudes that love the sport, have regular jobs and regular lives, but ride really freakin' well!
You really don't get opportunities like that with most sports.

In my starstruck state, I didn't ask a lot of questions that I would have liked to. But then, you wonder if these guys get tired of answering the same old questions over and over. I'm sure that they would have been glad to share ideas...I didn't want to push. Just enjoyed the wrap-up dinner.

My wife was not there....and she's pissed. (she's got a crush on Cuong). lol.

Come out to Southern California if you wanna ride with the mx guys. It's the same type of deal.

No need to go out to California to meet some great MX guys in one spot, just hang at Dade city MX or croom on certain times of the year and you will run into many big Florida and abroad names - Ricky Carmichael, James Stewart, Chad Reed, Kyle Chisholm(I use to see him all the time at Sunshine MX in St. Pete). Heck saw Travis Pastrana up at Croom a few times, Tim Ferry seems to always be showing up or helping out fast upcoming florida kids. Dean Wilson was hanging out at our dealership last year when he was in Florida for a couple months. Even the star Ryan Villopoto seems to have a track here. Blah blah blah etc.

we have some great guys in this sport for sure...wish we hada few more guys like Ross..It seems to be this way in a number of younger orientated extreme sports ...gonna have to say sports or hobbies with clics that the older the crowd is at the VERY top the less friendly they become as a group.

Friends are overrated

You Don't Know Me ( said in a white trash talk show tone )
