I just added flame arresters and a Pro-Tec rec head to my Blaster 2. This makes the ski actually feel like it has some power coming out of a sharp turn. This is a good cheap mod (although I bought the expensive stuff) you can do to start.
If you are going to spend thousands on pipes, heads, porting, electical, etc... just consider an 1100 or 1200 upgrade.....sure that will be thousands also but you will be happier. It seems lots of people have accomplished this with good results.
