Blaster Blaster Checklist

I bought a blaster last year and absolutely loved it and rode the crap out of it. Now I'm looking at modding it. The more I rode the ski, the more unreliable it became, thats where the motor swap comes into play. If anyones looking, I've got a rebuilt (before I bought it) 61x with a girdled ada head, reeds, rebuilt carb, NEW (less than 3hrs) msd enhancer and jss coil. Oh and a limited pipe.

1. Clean/seal/paint the inside of the hull
2. 1100/1200 powerplant, rear exhaust, scupper
3. Either wrap it/paint it (I'm thinking purple)
4. turf
5. footstraps

What do you guys think? What am I missing?

Honestly, you don't need to put a 1100 in a B1. You can get all the reliable power you need out of a 701. All you really need is a Factory Mod pipe to really wake it up.

Yes...you need to know what pitch impeller you are running. Could be too tall or low of a pitch. Reliability is a whole package, makes no sense to add power and leave the pump alone.

i agree....if you over propped its gonna feel sluggish. look for a lower prop after you see what is in the pump now. if you going to ride surf i suggust a hooker 9/15 or 10/16. i got mine from JetManiac. he is awesome to deal with for parts. little props for ya there chris. just take a look into port and polishing that 61x jugs, that will really wake up the motor. i would suggust a mod pipe over a limited. had great power on a 650 superjet motor in my blaster (dont ask). and if you going to be in the pump area i would blueprint that too, all the flashing and unevenness adds up.

The ski came with a limited when I bought it. I'll be just messing around on it racing my buddies on a small buoy course we have and jumping some boat wake. I figured I could just about get enough money out of the motor, electronics, and pipe to pay for an 1100, and the 1100 would be more reliable. It has an aluminum pump shoe, some intake grate, and a riva groovy ride plate already so no need to change any of that. Any info on blueprinting my pump? The guy I bought it from raced it some from what I'm told.
