1/8" x 1 stainless works pretty good as a backer also. Just a little harder to drill through. I like the epoxy idea, MUCH less work than cutting out that stupid foam

not too thick......use a hot knife....makes cutting the foam out way easy...and use nut and bolt....cause screws will come out.....when you start doing rolls:mischievous:

I just installed Dakine Proform straps on one of my Blasters last night.
I purchased the insert kit from oxnard111, and followed the directions he had in his thread selling them. I glued / epoxied the life out of them going in, then glued / epoxied the life out of them on the backside.
Has anyone tried the method he recommends on a Blaster? Will it hold? Or should I expect to have to take them out and use bolts and metal backing?
(and I don't plan on doing any rolls, etc., just wavejumping).
Any thoughts?

suziq knows the best way to install footstraps on a blaster. you should pm her. she's got double straps on her blaster.

Well, thanks for the "help".
Let's just say she was less than thrilled when I asked her for input on my footstrap install. (guess I missed a certain thread that would have clued me in...)

Hit Natty matty up at ski innovations he will make you backing plates as much as you need...

Any pics of process would be great ( especially of the complete yellow Blaster !! )

And where can you get the footstraps for a good price ?

The yellow blaster will be at Daytona. I'll take some pics on the beach when we get there.
I purchased my Dakine proform footstraps at Blowsion. $20.95 each, with shipping I paid $53.
I did find them much cheaper at a place called Ocean Air Sports in North Carolina, but they were closed for the holidays and I couldn't wait.
I didn't take any pics of the process, but next week I'll thread them off and show pics of them done (that's if they hold up this weekend).
Then again, if it's not 70 degrees or warmer, I'm stayin on the beach.

I'm about to do mine tomorrow, I still have huge holes cut out on the rear deck from doing the tail mod and twin rear exhaust mod so should be a doddle.

Prem1x.....how did you find the positioning you used after riding for a while?

I have a friend that did his install and wasn't happy with the position after all that work
