Ive been told it is and even raced a b2 2 weeks ago in Sport Mod.
you can race anything in any class if the promoter will let you, but according to the rule book it is not legal.
sport class is b1, x2, euro blaster, hx, polaris hurricane
umless someone has changed the rules again, it has never been legal in sport class. the b2 went into the old 785 class.

Hey Mick, sorry to burst your bubble, but if you look in the IJSBA/APBA rule books, the B2 is in the runabout class. Sport class requires 26"- 38" wide, the B2 is 39.50"-40".
I was wondering that too just out of curiosity a couple years ago when I bought my B2. Nice clean looking B2 though! I say if they let you race, go for it.

Dont worry your not busing any bubble here. They let me race my other B2 two weeks ago. Infact when the blaster guys found out I had a B2 they were all eager for me to bring it out. One guy in sport spec did say I cant run it in that class, so I ran it in Sport Mod.
I was happy to race and so was everyone but Curtis.
The promotor said I could run the B2 sport Mod.
Next year if they say I cant run it in sport mod, thats fine I have a B1 and a 701 motor on the shelf.
HOWEVER, with that said, I would like to run this ski as it has been abused to hell so if it ever gets hit during a race, it wont be such a big deal if the ski gets damaged.
If I have to run the 800 sport class I will be running alone.
We will see.

Who says I wasn't happy you raced, I was just harassing you about it not being legal. Actually I think a B2 should be legal for sport class its handling and performance are in line with others in the class.

The B1 hull is faster anyhow......... not an advantage except for turning....... The B2 turns like it is on rails.

When you races few weeks ago do you recall how many 800 Runabouts there were racing? I said I was going to try to start racing this season but never got the time but I would like to try next season
