remove 701, insert 760
depends on what 701 and 760 parts you have
some differences in intake/exhaust, electrics, etc

bedplates should just bolt right up
may have to change the coupler (assuming you have a midshaft and coupler)
build it up for there

760 with a head, pipe n enhancer will really rip in the mid range pull...I rode one that was wicked ! but never try a 760/155mm pump...it did not work.

my b-pipe 701 blaster w/ milled head had more off throttle low end snap than the 760...

Yeah, be careful you know what you are getting with the 760. My buddy had one in a blaster for a while and with similar mods I preferred my 701. Not to sure how well it was tuned but the power-band is undoubtedly different. That could be good or bad.

From what I have run into by looking so far. It has a larger coupler so If you have billet couplers you can get by there. The exhuast side is differnt from the X cylinders mainly larger 10mm bolts instead of the 8mm bolts. Also the ports are larger so you have to have them machined out and 44mm carbs is where I would start at tuning but I would say you would be happier with 46's or even 48's. Head and water routing all stay the same. Dont you have a 760 motor in your superjet?

IMO, the 62t motor is a better motor all the way around. You just have to know how to set it up to put the power to the water. A 760 is a 62t raider motor with an 84mm bore, different stator/flywheel combo and the OEM Yamaha 44mm carbs. Everything else is the same. Take the 760, add the right intake set up (which is expensive), set the pipe up right and most importantly, get the right prop set up and it will have more power than any 61x set up. One of the problems with the stock 760 motor set up is the OEM Yamaha 44mm carbs. There is a ton of power to be had in that motor by ditching those emissions friendly carbs out for a good set of Novis or Full Specs.

There are some on here who will disagree, nothing wrong with that. But all you have to do is ask people who have ridden our 62t spec set ups to know what I am talking about.

Just my opinion.

I put a 760 in my blaster. I'm using a 701 riva red pipe that I had to drill out and port match for it to work. I ditched the 760 eletronics to use the 701 ebox and bought an adjustable cdi. I used the stock 701 stator and flywheel and ditched the stock 44's..they're hard to tune. I bought the riva intake adapter to make it a single carb set-up for easy tuning. I bought carbon tech reeds and I'm using a soloas 14.5-18 prop. It will scream on the mid to top end and it's everything I can do to hold on. I'm still trying to get more of a hole shot out of it..but more tuning required. My carb set-up is 120H 150L 85gram spring and 1.5ns. It's by no means perfect yet, but I'm close. Good luck!!!

its slow....

I loc-tited heli coils in the exhaust bolt holes to take care of the bolt issue ( time-serts are the proper way to do this).
I had to grind a hunk of meat from the left rear and center exhaust side areas where the head meets the deck to allow the girdles for the ADA head.

Bump the timing, add compression and you now have a Puerto Rican big bore package!
