Blaster Blaster Upgrades BRAP!!

Thats lookin killer Craig, very very nice ! ! .... but I hope you will eventually change out those 2 water '' air'' intakes on top of the motor and go to the stock SJ air intake system just for reliability .. ... It gonna rip either way SWEEEET ! :)

We have experimented with some water shielding of sort and Zimmy reported it made a difference. I personally don't like the stock flame arrestors. They flow 32% less than a good flame arrestor. I think with a b1 there are options to baffle the water going into the carbs. But yes, the a/m flame arrestors in the surf do injest a lot of water the trick is to baffle the water at the bottom of the hull from splashing up into the carbs.

Cool , I wait to see what you guys come up with ..... Personally I could not tell the difference going from AM back to stock with taperbored spacers, on a 781cc with 44's and all the goodies , imo

We set somethg up with turf when we were down in Daytona and it definitely helped. Where did you get the taper bored spacers? Might take a flow bench test to see what the deal is, but we are definitely interested in some different ideas to help with water ingestion!

Update: BRAP! Gotta love the new power package :) We had the beast out on the lake today for a maiden voyage! Big thanks to Erik for all he hard work, Joe, Scott and John for the tuning and time they took to help out on the weekend!

Ski hits really hard, it is going to take some getting used to, but this setup is going to be killer in the surf! We will be looking into some pump/engine matching to get the most out of the motor, but I have to say, this thing blows the big bore out of the park!:spank: No surprise on that though! Snagged a total loss too, can't wait to get that hooked up!

I will be hitting the river sometime this week to make sure she is run in properly, then hopefully will get some vid for everyone to see it in action, mmmm Brap!!!

Went out playing yesterday, wife shot this from the phone, didnt make it, but its a start! haha :)

Total loss hasnt been installed yet, we are also looking into a different prop setup as it seems like the one I have right now isnt right for the motor.

Zimmy will pull it off!!!! But a few things will need to be changed. His engine out powers the 11/17 hooker, he will get his MSD on there soon and that boat will have to lose some weight.

U one crazy African! I give ya till the end of the summer and you will be busting flat water backs on the blaster!!!!!! Well done Craig!!!!!!

Thanks Brian! The first flips I did were out there with you pushing me to try it! Quote "Quite being a :):):):):) and go for it!"

She is a pig! Thanks for all your help with the setup Erik, would still be running a 701 with a red pipe and 1/4 gapped wear ring if it wasnt for you and all the advice and effort!

You can find a used one on here for 50 bucks or so. A better option is an aluminum one. Search the classifieds here for one.

Oh and Welcome aboard.

Zimmy's pump is a 11/17 hooker, solas mag, 82mm nozzle. The engine revs hard but the boat just doesnt leap like it should but at just slightly moving the boat hits hard and keeps pulling. We just need to get more water processed through the pump at just off idle. If we were to enlarge the nozzle I think it would just cavitate. Things will only get worse when we install the MSD t/l system.. I think tweeking the front of the impellor should help.
