FX-1 Blowsion pump install + XR tech 144 pump shoe

i have my fx-1 shoe that i'm not using if anyone needs one . a couple of the tabs are broken off though.

If you are going to do the pump mod you may as well open it up 144mm the whole way, means glassing the intake a little too.

As for the shoe, I used a alloy SJ shoe from Blowsion and had it machined down the back.. seems to work well.

I'm still running a 14/18 prop and its miles of punch. I think I'll upgrade to a hooker once our dollar gets stronger.

im just going to leave the stock shoe in there for a bit...this is just a backup boat anyhow

Do you remember the QJS 144mm pump mod? He used a plate of aluminum instead of messing with the stock FX pump shoe. At least you don't have to worry about the front mounting tabs (cut them off the liner). The mounting tabs are still in the pictures but, are they really necessary if the plate is bonded to the hull? Use some metric threaded rod to sandwich it all together.
