Super Jet Blowsion Tubbie Question

Installed tubbies during a build on my 97 RN. Took it to the coast this weekend and one of the tubbies had partial separation from my hull. I used 5200 along with the stainless screws provided by blowsion. then I glassed the edges before paint. It's not coming completely off, but one screw actually backed out and you can slide a screw driver between the hull and tubbie (along the bottom). Should I pull it off and start over or just run some stainless bolts (flat head and counter sunk) through the hull? thanks for your suggestions.

I think pictures of your set up and the tabbies installation would help. I installed destroyers on mine, used Marine sealant around all the bolts and all along the outside about 1/4 inch from the edge, when bolted it squeezed out some and I spread like caulking, been on fine no problems for two years.

I'll get some pics. But I did the same as above but sounds like I applied a bit more marine sealant. For what ever reason about half of the screws did not hold. I'm thinking stainless bolts would be better than the screws supplied by Blowsion. I'm interested to know if anyone has used bolts vs. screws.

Here are some pics. You can see that one screw backed completely out. Most of the separation occurred on the bottom. I have already sanded/chipped away some glass and filler.

My destroyers use bolts that go thru the hull with stainless nut/washer/flaged asseblies that glue to the inside of hull so i think your idea will help, they definatly wont be loosing up and backing out on you.

im not sure why your part is coming off but I wonder if that screw actually went into the hull? did you cut off the excess? did it get too hot and melt the resin in the hull thus making it not really screwed in? I like to mix thickened epoxy with cabosil instead of 5200. this way when it squeezes out you can use it to bond and fair the edges. then put the glass over it and epoxy that on the edge.

bigger longer screw, cut slowly to not heat screw up to much and cover with glass? for the edge mix some epoxy and cabosil after sanding all the 5200 away and then glass over. that would be what I would do. hopefully that helps.
