Hey guys, I'm thinking about flying down from Michigan without a ski for the freeride. I've never ridden in beach surf, but I love 3' Lake Erie chop.

Is there much opportunity to rip around on a borrowed ski?

Thanks

don't take this the wrong way, but if you aren't a douche, ride with a little respect and pony up for what you burn in fuel, my ski will be there for demo's. it's a new carbon freak with a big bore at the moment.

Ha, I'm more looking for a half sunk cobbled together X2 or something. I've got a little too much respect to risk someone's ski that cost more then my Duramax did... heh

Thanks for the offer though!

Hah, true, but I don't think I'd describe it as Half Sunk and cobbled together. (Though I'd ride the :):):):) out of it given the chance...)

it's a hobby man. if i couldn't afford it i wouldn't do it. all i ask is a little respect. it's meant to be backflopped and failing some rolls. the motor will be brand new so i don't think there will be an issue with that and well the rest is brand new to :p

I don't try to roll anyone elses ski. Especially if I don't know them well. Especially in the surf. I tried a few in freshwater on lucas's once and the ski was upside down for a bit. It had no waterbox with a powerfactor pipe. I was :):):):)ting bricks when it came time to hit the start button.

F that. I don't try rolls or flips with my own ski.
I do that on borrowed boats. I don't wanna break chit on my own ski.

Seriously though: A little respect goes a long way. Offer to pay for gas, put the ski back where you got it, leave it cleaner than when you got it. If you got water in it, be upfront about it and don't just leave it sitting.

LOL. I break it I buy it. A new 16mm crank and a rebuild by X-Scream would have been expensive.

My advice is if you really want to thrash on a ski in the surf, bring your own. Especially if you have never rode in the surf before.

Otherwise be as respectful and conscientious and honorable as possible.

Personal favorite of mine: If you're gonna borrow a beach cart, please bring it back to where you found it.

Looks like I will be flying in as well and woudn't mind to go for a ride..I know enough people that have alredy offered but like to try some different skis although by then I will likely have my am hull of choice ordered and motor built..Still nice to try different set ups..
I have ridden most hulls already but not in surf...
