Bob footholds

Hey does anyone know of anyone who still sells the bob footholds and tray widening kit. I was looking and I saw that the ski clinic used to sell them. I guess their website isn’t working anymore for prices. Well it looks really good installed but are there maybe some suggestions of something similar?

You plan to ever have a sale on them? If you do, I'll buy them that day.

We do monthly sales from November-March to try and help you guys out with the winter builds, and the Adjustable holds are definitely a popular one then.
Be sure to follow us on Facebook & Instagram, as that's where any & all sales and specials are promoted.

Mind if I ask what material you are using as the core where the holds go through?

I'm not sure I understand, do you mean the actual footpods themselves?
If so, they are extremely thick fiberglass units with a hollow core.

Maybe he means what’s holding them in.

If so the side of the hull, foam you pour in between and then the fiberglass foothold insert. Then you cut the groves in where the bolts go through.

Click the link and watch the install video.

Sorry I was not clear. I was asking what is sandwiched between the fiberglass in the gunwhale section of the buckets. When watching the install video I noticed there is a thicker section that the footholds slots go through once glassed in. I was wondering if it is really thick fiberglass or some composite material to keep it from crunching the gunwhale.

I am widening a superjet and plan to use your footholds, I dont plan on using the entire kit. I just want to make sure when I install them through the gunwhales It doesn't go crunch.

Thank you for your help.

Cut away the sides mount in the new footholds and pour in the 2 part foam and trim off the extra that comes out the top.

Ahh, I see.
For that, we use a thickened epoxy paste. Just regular 2 part epoxy resin mixed with filler/cabosil for a real thick consistency. Helps to fill all the voids and make sure the holes you drill for the holds won't have gaps for water to get to your tray.

Thank you very much. So nothing other than thick fiberglass and resin/filler. I was thinking there was some sort of backer board wedged inside the mold for some reason. That may have been the BOB version of the holds that had something like that inside.

Yeah, the original version (pre 2016) ran a 1/2" fiberboard between the hull & wide tray - we've since removed that on the current version to allow more tray space. However, the fiber board used the same install method, as they were fiberglassed to the wide tray prior to delivery.

Thank you. That is exactly what I needed to know. I love the Apex hull you guys just made and plan to emulate it in my square nose build.
