Bob gen2 driveshaft and midshaft

Have seen a few WSM driveshafts with splines not machined to spec, but probably not as much as yours is off.

I wonder if they did Bob gen 2's that took a 1100 midshaft? Anyone have an 1100 midshaft to measure how deep the splines start at? I know they're towards the front vs the rear like on a Superjet.

Might be easier to call the ski clinic In Antioch and ask about what your hull would require, Derrick senior's been answering the phone a lot.

Ya, I have correspondence with him via email, I work in an office so it's impossible for me to call without getting into trouble haha. So far we've determined my pump is in proper Superjet spec, it's matches his dimensions perfectly. He mocked it up in their ski and his driveshaft protrudes 1.75" past the bulkhead, mine is 2.75". So I just need to figure out if:
A: I need to shorten my driveshaft
B: Get a different mid shaft
C: Sink ski and collect insurance money (just kidding).

So, I'm thinking this ski uses an 1100 midshaft. I measured the rear motor mount holes in SJ and they sit 6.25" from the bulkhead, the Bob sits 5". A 1100 midshaft is 1.5" shorter than a SJ one. So I'm assuming this uses an 1100 shaft, which would explain the extra 1" bulkhead protrusion to fit the front splines on the 1100 shaft. Might order one to try.

Ok, well the PO sent me an image of the midshaft assembly outta this ski. It's definitely either a raider 1100 or gp760.

So I need to:
A: Determine if my SJ shaft has enough protrusion to properly engage the forward splines on a 1100 midshaft.
B: If there's not enough engagement for a 1100 shaft, shorten my SJ shaft and get a gp760 midshaft with rearward splines.

I'm thinking this is some weird transitional gen1/gen2 Bob with a gen1 bottom deck and gen2 top deck.

Well it's not a raider midshaft, so back to square one, prob some odd, one off driveline. I really don't have anymore time to dick with this ski, so watch for it to go up for sale. Who wants a mystery Bob?

If it’s cheap I’m first in line . Seriously dude I wouldn’t doubt it’s an 1100 shaft, I have installed a few and one characteristic of a ski that utilizes one is crazy length sticking out past the bulkhead. Now with that being said I did use two 1100 shafts that had a secondary threaded section that was actually the splined part of the shaft. Can’t tell you if they where am or oem. Both came from @JetManiac one for rip, and one for a rok. One thing about the 1100 shaft is the spline engagement butts up to the coupler versus a superjet being a few inches away from the coupler. Guaranteed it’s 1100

Thinking out load, but on a recent rok I sold. When I was building it and deciding what I needed to do to use standard drivetrain, I specifically remember putting a superjet shaft on and it was at least an inch off the bulkhead slammed, full engagement. That had an 1100 shaft all said and done. But not standard superjet spec out the backside, so that could be your issue

Post some better pics of your midshaft. You cant even see the shaft in your pic.

Up for sale, open to offers. Not an 1100 midshaft, I bought one and has very little to no spline engagement.

Just has a standard 160mm SJ shaft, didn't work, it bottomed out on the splines about an inch before contacting the bulkhead. Tried a 122mm 1100 shaft and had no spline engagement. Hurricane/ski clinic said it's prob a one off custom ski an ex-employee built for himself so god knows what parts it needs.

If the previous owner had it together and running how is it that you can’t replicate what he had?

as I said before you need to shorten the shaft ( owner of 3 BOB's ) just saying .....

BTW your mid shaft looks like a GP Mid shaft which is shorter

Send me the measurements of your current shaft I still have one here that might fit the bill ( super coincidence ) .....

Kawasaki shafts wont fit they are shorter

What midshaft did you run, gp760? The driveshaft I have is a 26" stock Superjet, how long is your shortened driveshaft? I'd assume somewhere between 24.5 to 25"?

the standard was RN mid shaft not the shorter GP shaft , depending on where your motor mounts /bedplates had been glassed in

u must have some .5 version of a bob like 2.5 or 3.5 , whats is your pump shaft length ?

jet maniac will be able to make any size u need , no better and dependable source

RN 160mm GP 800 127.5mm
