Except the turf is a death wish and sucks!!!! They have similialarities, but from my experience def don't have a similar ride. Rickter seems wider, more stable at slow and high speeds, bob rides nose high and begs to be flipped. Not saying anything bad about either hull, just tough to put into words the difference in how they ride. Both nice boats, don't care to get into the little details of each. Have more input next week after riding a G3, but def a G2 and XFS have a different ride to me anyways.

If you, Pat and Josh are heading to Van Beeks next weekend, it sounds like there's going to be a serious collection of skis.
-BOB Gen2 (701, 701)
-BOB G3 (850, 850, 1000)
-Super Freak (760, 1000)
-XFS (950)
-Rok (760?)
-Rev (701)
-Light Weight? (850)

The rickter definetly slides a little more. The bob hooks hard. Both pop amazing. The bob is lighter forsure. I prefer the rickter footholds but the bobs are just something u need to adjust to ur liking. I guess rickters wait timeis down to 2-3 months. The ski-clinic treats and updates you a little better I think. The more we ride these skis the more we notice how different they really handle. The bob feels more competitive but that could be the power setup. I will be trying a few other gen3's hopefully in the next month. Hopefully andrew will charm in and put his 2 cents in

Thanks for the comparison.
If I understand this correct, the XFR is a longer hull and a better surf set up while the XFS is shorter and suited for flat water? I am 6'-3" and 230 lbs, so I am not sure what to expect from these short ski's as I only use on flat water.

The XFR is a heavier surf layup with a longer tray than the XFS. I'm 6-4 and 225 and have no problem on ether ski. Both a very fun hulls. I think the xfs is a little more stable and I like the footholds a little more. I wish the bob holds wrapped around your foot a little more. The BOB definitely feels lighter, but that's because it's carbon and I think it carves better than the rickter. Both are great hulls and you can't go wrong with ether one! Both skis can still chase down a boat too!

Thought I would chime in myself after riding Trueriders xfs and after dropping my G3 in the water this weekend... My original opinion has completely changed... I think the biggest difference between our original comparison wasnt the hull at all but the total package, The xfs having a Dasa950, Charging Electronics, 148 Maxx set-back, XJ's G3 Jetworks 900, TL, 144 Mag NOT SET BACK... Original opinion was the Bob G3 is a much squirrelly hull... HOWEVER My set-up I rode today G3 Dasa1100, Charging Electronics, 148 Maxx set-back I feel like the comparison is much closer and to be honest If I was blindfolded not sure I could honestly tell the difference between the two, I do however like the RRP Footholds better... I realize this might sound like a bias statement but all the clowns and keyboard cowboys who put down the Bob well you better lump the XFS in that group because they ride almost identical, easer to stay in the Rickter holds is the only difference

When I was deciding between the XFS and Bob G3, The deciding factor between the two was only the delivery date, Truerider waited a year for his hull XJ waited 3 months... I rode both skis most of the summer before I made the call, After I had decided on the G3 I found myself riding the XFS more, Just kinda the way it worked out and I grew very fond of it kinda regretting my decision, However I was wrong, With comparable set-ups the hulls are almost identical and I would be extremely happy with either or... It may sound like ive repeated myself in this post, I just dont want any idiots taking it out of context
