Bob Hull #1 inSservice

I have been planning on writing this massive thank you to the bob crew since WF's and just getting around to it now. I originally bought my gen 2 carbon 865 around 2 years ago, the ski was awesome to learn on and everything but I beat the piss out of it and after 2 years it was tired. There was no way i could compete on it anymore with the amount of cracks i had put into it, so i called up the skiclinic and they made me a killer deal to trade in my old worn out hull and a some cash and i could get a brand new kevlar g3 delivered to havasu. Two years of riding my gen 2 i never landed one flip after 1000's of attempts, and even landing a flip a year earlier on lil d's amateur ski. The ski clinic helped my transfer everything from my old hull into my new one in an afternoon and we hit the water that night. Instantly the ski felt 10x better, i warmed up the ski and did a couple warm up tricks, first try right out of the gate i landed my first flip attempt on my gen 3! The new hull was unbelievable! 3 days later my 865 xscream blew up and i thought my wf's was over....i can never catch a break i guess. Derrick senior instantly offered me Lil D's ski from last year which is now elis ski to compete on, i only got to ride the ski for about 10 minutes total before competition. Pulled off a 14th...which isnt bad.

So basically i wanted to give a huge thanks to the ski clinic for how well they treat their customers, i cant even count how many times they have helped me when i was in a jam. Top notch crew and i would recommend them to anyone.

Well the full story is that my 865 felt a bit weak and then stopped running, the ignition blew no big deal atp garbage. When we put the new ignition in we thought we would do a compression test to see why it felt so weak, should be around 215 psi, front cylinder was 190 and back was 140. Found this out thursday before competition, took the head off and some dmg on one piston, looks like a wrist pin bearing let go. Ski is still in havasu so i havent gotten a chance to tear it apart. two years at 215 psi, not bad if u ask me.

Yah Derrick and his team are amazing. They are second to none for service. nobody keeps there customers updated and informed like them. And that G3 hull is one of my favorite hulls. you can ride it WOT and you can do flip to flips like nothing. Ski Clinic is awesome!!!!

Squid, you're a stud!
Kinda funny how we both ended up on Black & Yellow skis that week..
Get the 850 back to life, I'm coming up next spring!

I agree! I have talked with Derrick Sr. at lengths many times since I purchased my Gen 2 last fall. He has done everything in his power to help me with any issues and tuning tips for the hull. The Ski Clinics service is phenomenal and I can't wait to get my new hull from them soon;)

Well said above Chris... I know that when parts break people get bent and sometimes go straight to the web to post anger but they should take a minute and call the manufacturer. More often than not guys in this industry are more than willing to take the time to try to right any wrongs. Customer service is number one for our shop as I know it is with Derrick at the Ski Clinic, Chris"Jetmaniac", Brian at Thrust and many others I have dealt with. Make a call before you make a post that you mite regret....

OK that came out a little wrong. Wasn't trying to bash you guys at all. I know you make a lot of great parts and I will be buying the total loss for sure. My ignition was two years old, I just meant it was no big deal I threw it in the trash. I had a lot of problems with my ATP cdi box so I wasn't to bent up to throw it out. If you want I can edit the post.

It's true, when i first read it i thoight he was calling atp garbage as well but I ride with him all the time and he only says good things about atp. I'm running msd total loss on ny new ski and he wanted to have matching electrical incase we have issues at all we can help eachother but he's pretty stuck on going with the atp. I can vouch for him that he wasn't bashing, simple misunderstanding
