BOB questions

i am going to be looking into getting a new hull after the summer or over the winter and right now i have a 701 rn superjet with all the goodie b pipe ada head msd ect... i do mainly flat water and hitting boat wakes and i am wondering if a bob is a good way to go had had a few questions on them if any one could help me out.
1. if i wanted to take it to the surf would it work
2.would upside down tricks be able to get done with a 701
3. the look atlot smaller than a super jet are they.
thank you for the help

I have one. Haven't had it on the water yet... but they are smaller than a superjet. However, they are wider than an SJ. For surf, I know it's not recommended without reinforcement to the sides and nose before.

If you plan to buy a BOB then please ride one 1st

Ive only ever riden my foot rocket n a Gen II bob...

N i thought the bob felt very uncomfortable to ride

I think it's all in adapting. I grew up on 550s and fx1s. Rode a superjet and hated it. But yeah, definitely try to ride any hull you plan on buying first, though it'll still end up taking some time to get use to it.

My Gen 1 was a pretty big POS. My hurricane doesn't even compare, hard to believe it came from the same builder, it's a great hull.

what is the main difference between a bob 2, 3 or a hurricane size, hull shape...?
I know on the 2 and 3 there are a few visual tweaks. I want to say the bump on the bottom of the hull is different too. I don't know if they changed much else. Hurricane is a completely different ski from the bobs

Had a lot of fun on my sons G2 carbon and my G3 carbon, but absolutely love the Hurricane. Ride some different hulls first and see what you think. Do some figure 8's at different speeds. That's always a good way to get a feel for any hulls turning characteristics.

My sons G2 was more stable and porpoised less than my G3, but the Hurricane will chase boats nicely and flip and spin like a moFo. We picked up glass Hurricanes to keep cost down and are very happy with them.

But still. That's neither here nor there. Test ride everything you can and see what feels best to you.

The only aftermarket hulls I have ridden are the ones listed and a -5 carbon superfreak. Feel free to pm me if you want to.

If you get a bob defiantly get the 2 or 3 you will sacrifice a lot on build quality, but they are fun. Mine has been ridden in the surf and it's very apparent they take some getting use to in chop it's very doable though I flipped mine off of boat wakes with a 701 and in the ocean flat water flips weren't happening though
