Super Jet Bogging problem grows into electrical Gremlin

I have been trying everything to get rid of a top end bog that started out as an intermittent bog that only occurred after tricks, moved on to a consistent bog that would allow short "braps" but as soon as you held the throttle open it would bog. I changed eBoxes, changed carburetors, same thing.
By then I figured it must be the stator or a twisted crank. That is all I have left. . .

While testing in the shop the starter went completely out.
Won't even work when hooked directly to the battery.

Is there any possible connection anyone can see between the starter going out and the original bogging issue, or is it just an unhappy coincidence?

I would have to say coincidence, the starter has its own ground and positive wire and is only engaged when you press the button, totally separate circuit from everything else on the ski.

I also say coincidence. When it rains, it pours. I know the feeling. I fixed a lot of things on my old 750 to no avail. The final culprit for me was multiple air leaks in the crankcase/crank seals.

something as simple as water in the gas...after tricks the water mixes with the gas and boggs.
im sure you drained your tank, juss sayin.

I dont really think thats something to be concerned of. A lot of people say that they cant keep that area clean and its always covered in oil and looks like crap. So they must have a bigger leak than that.

Not sure if im totally correct, but i heard after the ride sunday it sounded like you had an exhaust leak. One of my friends said that after you rode and pulled the hood off it pored out exhaust fumes. If thats the case that might be your problem. After riding for a while your engine compartment fills with exhaust fumes and thats what your intake is sucking in and causing the bog. But like i said, i wasnt there and didnt see it for myself. Looking forward to riding with you guys and seeing the ski in person.

that might be part of the problem, but in the lkn thread I stated that the exhaust leak just started to leak again that ride. The past two rides before that I had it all sealed up to where it wasnt leaking at all and still had the problems.

My philosophy... Don't assume anything. Doesn't matter if it's a brand new part, new seals, new gaskets, new soldered wires, etc. If you didn't physically test it yourself and can therefore confirm that the problem is in no way related... You can almost guarantee the problem is related to your shortcut. If it takes another 2-3 days to test everything when the ski is apart, you saved yourself 2-3 months of troubleshooting and crappy riding while diagnosing the problem with infinite possibilities. When you can rule out 90% of the problems, it makes life easy.
