Sounds like you'll be drilling holes in your flywheel like me and using a 3 bolt puller. Just watch out how far you drill so you don't hit the case.

also upon closer examination
the interrupted threads on the thread chaser
did not play well with the
interrupted threads for the keyway on the flywheel
:soapbox:

I see! I guess I just got lucky! I shouldn't be needing one of those anytime in the near future, or I'd be contacting watcon!

Man I didn't have any problems with the chaser at all. I threaded it in and tightened it to about 50ft lbs. Then warmed the hub of the flywheel (I could still hold the flywheel in my hand, not even hot, not even 150 degrees) I went to retighten the chaser and it was only finger tight and the flywheel already came loose. I also found that the center bolt of most china made 3 point pullers is also the some pitch and thread size too.

Lots of guys use the thread chaser so that's a normal way to do it. Personally, I don't. I use the OEM puller.

Here's the trick.

Lots of 3n1 oil on the threads of the puller, tighten the bolt until it stops.
Bang the bolt end with a hammer.
Gently tap the flywheel with the hammer around the rim. GENTLY!
Remove bolt.

Repeat four times and the flywheel will fall off.

Keep track of the woodruff key.

I just read this to day and need to pull the flywheel off a 96 sxi and the chaser was the bomb. put it in hand tight and then used an impact came right off no damage.
