Super Jet Boring nozzle worth it?

I've been looking into having the reduction nozzle on my SN SJ 701 bored out for a little more punch. Currently it's stock 701 with a hooker 9/15, ill also be adding a stubby pump cone and a B pipe. How much can be expected to gain from boring the nozzle it seems like a very small adjustment can a lot be expected? Also where can something like this be done I remember seeing a name but I can remember it at the moment?

A bored nozzle combined with a stubby cone may well lead to cavitation. I'd do the nozzle boring first and try it out. After that, put the stubby cone in and see what happens.
Both mods reduce the water pressure at the nozzle exit but increase volume. It helps the motor spin into higher RPM regions faster.
Is it worth it? I don't know, depends on how much your money means to you. The power difference isn't anything to write home about.

Depends on how your motor is loaded by the pump now. You won't know until you try it.

Try the stubby cone first, 85mm on exit may be too much. Contact Glen at Skat for nozzle size recommendations, that guy's a genius when it comes to pump tuning.

Ok thanks, I figured I'd try the cone first as well, it seems to me that a simple bolt in install instead of having to remove my pump an ship it away etc. and if I don't like it I'm sure someone would want it.

Interesting. On my Sola's mag I just went to a bored nozzle and stubby cone and I am getting massive cavitation at low speeds. It still has great hookup once moving its just hard to get going sometimes. I just replaced the really worn pump seal so if that does not fix then I will go back to normal cone. Thanks for the info

Ive been chasing down a cavitation issue as well with my mag pump. Swapped from a stubby cone to stock and made It worse. Ill be going back to a stock reduction nozzle now. Thanks matt_E

Man it seems like nozzle boring is a touchy subject in that it works for some and makes it worse for others! I'm trying to figure out when it's right to try a nozzle bore! Thoughts?

Just wanted to follow up on this. I replaced the pump seal and my cavitation is completely gone. Pump is super hooked up and seems to load the engine much more. I actually had to re-tune my carbs because of the difference.

I have 900cc Ada with hooker prop stubby cone and stock nozzle

I run stubby cone(blue blowsion) 85mm nozzle from zero, hooker prop, worx 201 on a stock pump and have no cavatation issues, made my SN more responsive and snappy feeling, felt that the power hit was stronger moved lower in throttle curve, it was worth doing for me at least
