Custom/Hybrid bottom end

OK let's for a moment forget that I posted my ski for sale. I've been trying to tune my pump. I've had 3 props and just repitched a brand new prop and no matter what I do can't get the bottom end hit that i want. I started off with a 7/18 as suggested by builder. Not were I want to be. Bought a used prop Y+2 was the only markings on it. Better but still not close. Bought a new 6/15 better but still not there. Took the ski to p&p. He tuned the carbs played with the pump a little. Suggested proping down 2 on the leading edge. So that makes it a 4/15 now it spins the prop and I have less top end. I don't know where to go from here. Oh I've tried short pump cones bored nozzles and flow guards as well

if you have done all that for pump tuning, maybe the motor just doesnt have it or you are expecting too much out of the motor you have. i keep saying, if you want to do flat water, you better have 1000cc or better power. flat water just aint no fun if you dont have enough power.

Tpain was FW flippn his hurricane with PHP 898. Contact him for setup.

Big pistons and small stroke need to be up in the revs to hit and pop those PV's. I had same troubles with a 4 mil Dasa. Low prop, small cone, 86mm nozzle, compression and TL. Agreed MSD TL can b a headache but ATP flame hasn't been for me.

I want going to blow up your other thread but now that you have a new one php 898 is a great motor I ride one with a solas 144 and total loss and race gas it hits amazing total loss isn't that bad just buy it new it's cheaper than a pfp and run race gas you have a carbon hull big pump big motor big carbs u have a sweet setup man add the extra 2 things what's your jetting at man get a php intake and vforce 3 reeds

I think the buzzard hit it rite on. 2 part problem I expect to much. And it's just not enough motor. The only thing that gets me is my buddy had an xscream 840 61x based motor with a solas 144 and a b pipe it hit way harder on the bottom than my 898.

The funny thing is I just mangled up the 7/18 on a diy repitch and so far it's ran best on that. I have no clue as to what pitch it is now but it was ducked just ran it til my 4/15 came back from impros. To bad it has a wrench welded to it now lol

from what ive seen, those 898 php motors can hit, but you need to run all the high dollar goodies on it. i just rode a superjet with a dasa 1000 pfp no TL stock pump and it was one of the biggest turds i've had the displeasure of stepping on. part combo and setup is critical on anything good. plus since you aint no pro, always opt for more power. learning sucks on insufficient power. easy to get discouraged............

You're numbers just seem so low... My 950 (70mm stroke) spins a 17/25 prop on the bottom end in a 148 pump and stock sized nozzles with a huge cone! You must be missing something else in your engine setup...

Your numbers seem incredibly high, that cant be a freestyle setup.

102nd7 what are the full specs of your brawler

It's a Solas concord prop, if that makes a difference. It's my surf boat, but is pretty capable in flat water. Kind of worried about putting the PFP on with how much I already spin the prop with the B-pipe...
